This Salem of purity, essence of Light,
Remains a bright beacon 'twixt darkness of night!
The sinners purge, the witches bind
Will deep evil banish as this tale unwinds.

Tho each one a neighbor, friend side by side -
The Dark One hides inward – within us abides!
To each the fate his deeds have sown!
Reveal the dark servants, these scoundrels make known!

The witches must perish! Lest they beguile -
Beware of their curses! The pure they defile!
So watch yourself! Observe your own!
Their putrid afflictions your good won't atone!

So love each his neighbor, as it is told -
But call out the wicked whose souls have been sold!
For evil lurks where myst'ry lies
And all are condemned where sorcery is nigh!

Chorus:

The Righteous of Salem, all saints unite!
In battle with evil, our most worthy fight!
When witches and warlocks and hideous things

A Triumph of Spirit

Score I wrote for last year's Marvin Hamlisch film scoring competition. Unfortunately, the video producer became the Grinch and refused to let anyone upload their complete video. So use your imagination. The story of a small boy who loves the ocean and tries everything to become closer with all things of the sea. He attempts to build various underwater submarine-like contraptions with multiple failures, some involving danger, until, at last, he is able to fulfill his dream. Along the way he is in danger of becoming chopped tuna :-) You'll figure out which part that is!
