To spank or not to spank? 
Spanking or corporal punishment has been a part of African culture for as long as people remember. Today opinions in Africa are divided on whether spanking is helpful or harmful to children.  Some who carry out corporal punishment claim to do so for ideological, religious or even cultural reasons. 

In this week’s edition of Speak UP!, we talk to Wycliffe Bashongena, who says spanking did not help in making him a better person. And we hear from Lina and Nelson, who are a couple, but have differing views on spanking their child.
