After a Night at the Indian restaurant all fired up on Curry i decided to record a mix..
Rough recording and far from tight, just having a mess around on the Exponent. Would like to tighten this up a bit and re-record it after i practice it a bit..  Need to sort out the soundcard and the sample rate. Trial and error 

Chilled Sunday Night Dubstep Mix

New to music production, currently learning Ableton. This is my first bass track i've made. Good learning curve. After exporting it the first time it sounded great in the home studio, but when i mixed it into another track Dj'ing it was definitely lacking volume. Spent the evening learning about compression, limiters, saturators and all the rest of it to try and get it a bit more popping and louder. Seems to of worked. Could of sat there for months trying to figure out how it works and get it perfect, but I'm happy to to put it out there, move on and learn more moving into the next project. I made this on Labour weekend camping down the murray riverat you guessed it.... Neils Bend.

This one is backed with a bit more emotion and feels. Learnt a whole lot more on ableton making this one just by playing around. Loving the process, really enjoying getting into the zone and out of my head.

Holding for you

Built the idea around the main melody loop, from there I filled in the gaps with some chops, rearranged a whole lot and got tucked into a few FXs, Then decided to find some vocals to help things move along a bit. Really enjoyed mixing this one. Still haven't figured the right way to automate fX's individually, but it will come. Still trying to learn the mix down process. Haven't even bothered with mastering as of yet. Just keen to get the ideas down, and learn from tweaking around. I must say, I did learn a lot with this track. 

Internal Battle

Heres a techno jam that me and my good friend Rob C recorded. All the beats are being played for the first time, all of it is unknown and on the fly. Robs tracks didn't work on his usb, so we used tracks I downloaded a while ago for fun. 

I find it so different to mix than my normal sound, but I love it. The gradual mixing is so nice to get into. You can really get lost in the mix.

Hello people,

I'm really happy to of recorded the 5th Hidden Gems show. Its been a really busy time for me, between work, having a social life, working on the Common Audio show each week with my friends on Kiss FM and other things. 

I find it quite hard to stay focused on one thing at a time. I'm very easily distracted, so doing this each fortnight is good for challenging myself ! 

This show is about sharing my love for music with other people of similar taste.

Orignally from Chirstchurch, New Zealand. Been on the move for 15 years and now settled in Albury in New South Wales. I've Dj'd since I was a young buck, influenced by 90's hiphop, jazz and mostly UK bass music. Decided its time to teach myself music production so I've picked up Ableton Live and a push to go with it. Lots to learn but going at my own pace.  Its never to late to learn something is it ??? haha will soon find out. After years of going by the alias of oBque ive decided its time for name change to reflect more on myself, hence the name Roamr.
