Crush on you - One step further

Week one of the 2025 weekly , 60 minute beat making challenge. Something different from usual (usual being hip hop)

Week 1: Cry me a river

Second week out of 52 of my 60minute, weekly beat challenge. Back to something a bit more familiar with a regular hip hop style sample flip.

Week 2: Trouble

Week 3 out of 52 of my 60minute, weekly beat challenge. Some 808 slide bass sounds of drill (albeit a quick thing, obvs)

Week 3: Rhythm of life

Week 4. Don't really like this, but its this week's hour of work, so for better or worse its going up! Was listening to some stuff and heard the horns on this and immediately thought of the Brooklyn 99 theme tune. For some reason I ended up using the Sing sing break, which then also makes me think of wu-tang.

The mix down is non-existent, but its something. 48 to go for 2025 weekly beat making hour challenge

Week 4: Undecided

Another week of my year of weekly beat making challenge. 

Week 5: Leave Me

This weeks 60 minute beat challenge. This really was a quick one, easily less than 60 mins including listening to a bunch of stuff, but just all kinda clicked, and enjoying this one.

Week 6: Lonely

Another week, this one is a sample from an old brazilian tune, but it doenst really sound much like that. I was going to  go for a more boom bap style this time, but got sidetracked with this sample. When I started with the main sample I was using in my head I was gonna go for an early wu-tang style beat, but didn't end up like that either..

Week 7: All I need

Another week, another beat. This one more boom-bappy. Quite enjoyed this one.

Week 8 - Dont need your love

Finally went full boom bap with this one, really simple but really liked it. I also have a version of this with the DWYCK acapella over the top..



Week 9 - One more time

This weeks, slowed it down a bit and made it a bit grimier, bit more distorted.

Week 10: Missin your lovin

Had a couple samples lined up this week but stumbled across this and had to go with it. 

I'd have liked to have got a Slick Rick acapella over the top, as I think it would have suited his flow, but couldn't find one (in the 5mins I looked before uploading)



Week 11: the good and the bad

Another week, but was out of town for some of it so not much chance to fit this one in, probs quite a bit less than an hour on this one!

Week 12: Danger zone

Another week of instrumental hip hop. Was trying to channel 90s Pharcyde beats, but lost my way a little bit. None the less, I quite like the main driving sample through it..

Week 13: Summertime

Named after a cheeky sample from Cilla. Another quick weekly hip hop beat..

Week 14: Blind date

Part of the #BMGPMSAMPLE competition - sampling Vocals in Love. 

Going for an old school, dusty fingers, crate digging style vibe.
