The day I met her, the world seemed to stop.

The air was clean, the leaves were green, and the birds sang a love song to the flowers.

I couldn’t help but smile as I felt my heart race like a runaway train.

But this was more than butterflies in my stomach.

I was falling head over heels before I even had time to blink.

This time, this moment, I’d found the one.

But she was skittish. Nervous.

Every compliment or gesture I made had her on edge.

She looked over her shoulder every few minutes.

I tried to be gentle. Patient.

But I soon realized, though my heart ached, that she would always be looking over her shoulder.

Though I tried my best to make her feel safe, the fear was always there.

I could understand her past, her scars, and how difficult it was for her.

But, unfortunately, I had to accept that nothing I could do or say would ever truly erase her memories of being controlled, of not being believed.

So, I sadly bid my new love goodbye, knowing that there was nothing I could do to help her, and moving on, but missing her terribly nonetheless.

Standing Without A Clue

This song is about a couple who are both having challenges communicating their feelings after a fight.  They both left the house angry and it's not the first time it's happened.  While they were looking for each other they were reminded of how much they love each other.

I am a proud Canadian.  Born and raised in Vancouver, BC.  I was the youngest of six kids and had the privilege of growing up in South Vancouver, Fraserview district.  I am a published author, a Reverend of the Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry.  Almost all of the music I create is attached to personal experiences.   I love sharing my experiences both in poems and lyrics. They are things I have done all of my life since I was a child.
