Not much time to do a song today, so I cobbled this together with the intention of having a full song, but didn't get the vocals done in time, so I've omitted them. It's loosely inspired by Pierce the Veil and other middle of the road teen metal bands. I listened to some for work, and I thought I'd have a go at something similar. The whole song is based on the motion of a root note whilst  other common chord tones are held.

19th December 2013 - No Time To Sing

I'll be writing a couple of jingles soon, so I wanted to get some practice in. I wanted to do a rock one, so this is a 30 second bed with a loopable first section at 120 bpm that could be used as background music for maybe something like Top Gear? I don't know. It's just 30 seconds of thrashy rock stuff. Way fun.

Not sat down and made a song happen for a little while, and I though that since I have some spare time today I'd dust of the ukelele and make a song with it. It's always quite fun to write on because I don't understand the chords in the same way I do on guitar, so I tend to use my ears more. Not to play the uke though, obviously.

11th March 2015- The Painted Boy

Not done a proper full on rock song in a little while and I had a bit of free time yesterday and today to work on this. I genuinely feel SO much better, I feel like this has been a long time coming. I need to write more.

Had a bit of a melody in my head this morning when I woke up so I did a bit of arranging and quickly got a thing recorded. It's quite nice.

I'm currently studying for a Research Masters in creativity and inspiration, and experimenting with writing every day. I've been doing this on and off for a since October 2010, and will be keeping to the schedule as part of my course from October 2013. onwards. I've done loads of different styles and almost everything on here has been written in a day at most.  
I've done a couple of collaborations so far with some friends, and I'm always on the lookout for good songwriting people to work with so I can learn some new stuff, so thankyou to Tom Lancaster, Dale Cross and Ollie Baker, who I've done quite a bit of work with.
