Growing up Rob Tek always had a love for funky instrumental music, whether it was from live-action tv shows, animated 80s cartoons, or 90s video games from Quincy Jones, Yuji Ohno to Yuzo Koshiro. Strongly influenced by his good friend Jon Delerious, he began rocking House all over Calgary in 1999. He started out playing late-night internet radio shows, including his own show "The funk frequency" in 2003. Raves, after-hours clubs, and various club nights around Calgary Alberta.

Rob Tek is not a stranger to bigger things; he has opened parties with headliners such as DJ Heather, Collette, Gene Ferris, Miguel Migz, DJ Dan, and Johnny Fiasco over his time behind the decks.
