Katharsis Recordings has just launched a podcast series. The concept of our podcast is spreading the attraction/charms of Japanese scene both locally and globally. We will be out live recordings in Japan. 
It’s an honor to kick-off our 1st podcast with a killer live mix by guest Takaaki Itoh. This mix has been recorded somewhere in Shibuya in 2020. Enjoy his 2h set.

When I came to London last year to join fabric and head the A&R for the artist led label Houndstooth I got dragged down to Hackney Wick for what was going to be a life changing techno event of the rawest level. This happening is what has inspired my series of Warehouse Sessions, where I have reached out to my favourite techno artists and asked them to get inspired by that unique thump thump betwixt concrete sounds that industrialised techno spaces always provoke and provide a suitably banging mix for my Electronic Explorations podcast series.

This week I've kicked off another round of mixes lead by Our Circula Sound man Sigha, London resident Ø [Phase], Semantica Records boss and Spanish producer Svreca, Italian producer and co-owner of Repitch Records Shapednoise (One half of Violetshaped) and finally a US producer who has released on Sandwell District & Stroboscopic Artefacts, Rrose.

December 2012 brought mixes by USA producer Skirt, UK producer Truss aka MPIA3, Stormfield & myself, Irish and Greek producers AnD and French producer Kangding Ray (his being voted EE mix from all shows in 2012)

At the controls of this week's RYC transmission is a DJ we particularly look up to. Hailing out of Leipzig, Unitas Multiplex chief exec Vincent Neumann is the epitome of a skilled jockey, clinical on the momentum and transition but by no means standoffish or emotionless. Far from that, his sets deploy the most infectious arsenal of incendiary wares, spanning the whole spectrum of electronics with panache and poise. Psychotherapist by trade, Neumann's acute understanding of the dancer's psyche sure shines bright through this helluva hectic treat. To those who've been lucky enough to attend one of his seminal ten-hour sets this will ring a most emotional bell, to those who're yet to experience it, we're certain the present mix will offer an ideal point of entry into his ever-tasteful selections and supreme knack for groove manipulation. Tune in, zone out.

The sixth of the LDG Mix Series is experimental and ritualistic, hypnotic and abstract, and we feature Mike Parker, a master who has had a huge impact and influence on the techno scene for a long time.

LDG Channel: Mix Series 06 / Mike Parker

Somehow we are already at number ten in our podcast series. This one is yet another special offering and it comes from Ø [Phase], aka Ashley Burchett. Burchett is a UK techno legend who has been doing his do for the past fifteen years. He has released most of his work on the Token label and it includes immersive full lengths such as Frames of Reference as well as tens of hugely consistent and always excellent EPs that go far beyond simple floor fodder. Atmosphere and tension, hypnotism and efficient sonic economy all characterise his singular output. 

Clocking in at just under 75 minutes, this one is for the heads: it starts off in supple, subliminal techno territory with distant drones and rubbery synths working you into a hypnotic state and then gradually unfolds through many different textures. Always rooted to a seductive and repetitive kick, this is a masterclass in control and restraint, in tension and balance, and it will keep you locked for the thrilling duration as a result.

✈ To celebrate this new episode, we are proud and delighted to welcome DJ and producer from Belgium : BORDER ONE (Token / KEY Vinyl / SK_Eleven).

Hailing from Belgium, Border One has amassed an irrefutable reputation in his home country and beyond since the release of his first 12-inch record in 2015. Between a fascination for sound discovery through the use of his modular synthesizer and his loyalty to the classic club rhythms, Border One’s style serves as a swiss-army knife for promoters and DJ’s on an international level.

With a self description expressing a priority to make the crowd move, his music does not fall short of its intention. Forward thinking in its conception rendered highly functional in its implementation, Border One’s music finds middle ground in an increasingly polarized musical climate for the genre; whether it be through his selection as a DJ or his technicality as a producer. Considering this, his release catalogue seems only appropriate. He has released EP’s on Knowledge Imprint, Setaoc Masse’s SK-X, his own Border One Records, Freddy K’s KEY vinyl imprint, and the infamous Token Records to name a few.

UK Based Techno producer best known by his work on the Belgium based Token Records and who's style ranges from gritty minimal techno to Detroit influenced material. His debut “Module Overload” was released on London’s Lost/Cosmic records in 2000, and was followed by a string of productions for London's Surface/Inceptive Records and Ben Sims Ingoma imprint. The move to Token came in 2007, he shortly after began DJing professionally and has since performed at parties across the globe. His continued works have seen constant support throughout the techno world and have featured in CD mixes by Robert Hood, François Kevorkian and Dave Clarke amongst others…

Alongside his production work Phase is also a Mastering engineer and on/off artwork designer. Starting out at London’s prestigious Sony Music/Whitfield Street Studios, he has cut records for numerous underground dance acts as well as working on projects for mainstream artists.

Italian DJ and electronic music producer born in 1987 in Sardinia, based in Berlin. Label owner of 012.

Claudio PRC is an Italian deep techno specialist who takes cues from avant-garde and ambient music as well as the abyssal echoes of early hypnotic acid and dub. He’s been active as a DJ and producer since 2006 and released his records mainly on Prologue Music, Semantica Records and TGP, of which he is co-founder. From 2018 Claudio is resident DJ in one of Prague’s most valued clubs, Ankali, where he curates the Volumi Dinamici night. In 2020 he founded 012, a new platform dedicated to art and sound research.
