Mario Alonso, más conocido en el mundo de la música electrónica como Lowsystem es un Dj/Productor nacido y crecido en Salamanca (España) afincado en Barcelona (Catalunya).

Mario comenzó a tocar en 2006 en clubs como Sala Zeus de Medina del Campo y exportar su música a Castilla y León, Madrid, Asturias, Galicia y Barcelona y en festivales como el Festival Internacional de las Artes en Salamanca y el Fresh Weekend.

Rápidamente cruzó la frontera de su país, tocando en Portugal (Covilha) y Alemania (Berlín). Ha compartido cabina con artistas como Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Regis, Sandwell District, Function, Surgeon, Dave Clarke, Reeko, Exium, Christian Wünsch, Kr!z y SHXCXCXSH…

Lowsystem, un peso pesado y buena parte visible y artística de Speaks Silence. Un virtuoso detrás de la cabina que anda por encima de cualquier moda e ideología si se habla de Techno. Las señas de identidad de Lowsystem hacen que sus sets no sean una consecución de temas, si no algo contextualizado y convertirlo en una experiencia única. Sus sesiones describen una historia, escrita con hipnosis, obscura, los clásicos de techno y una técnica admirable a 3 platos.

Perhaps best-loved for his dynamic take on techno in both his productions and his DJ sets — having been involved and around music for nearly 30 years, @DVS1 is an expert in his field, a true veteran of the scene whose roots extend beyond DJing into grassroots raves and event promotion in his native Minneapolis. 

These days, he continues to push his own limits, getting involved in and starting up projects that fuel his love of music, but also his love of the community he was raised in and helped build. His most recent venture, Aslice, is a software-based platform which proposes a fairer music ecoysystem for DJs and promoters is in its early days, but its concept is bringing up questions for both me and Zak. 

For episode 47, we're exploring the value of art, the definition of success, his own personal perceptions of his worth as an artist.

Steve Bailey aka Makaton, has been releasing seminal, experimental and cutting-edge techno music since 1998 with all but three of his releases coming through his own Rodz-Konez operation, a label that’s also released music by Regis, Inigo Kennedy, Female, The 65D Mavericks and Fumiya Tanaka.

Makaton has also released two records on Token and one on RSB.  His exhilarating live set has also seen him support the techno scene across the UK, Europe and in the US. ’4 Point Suspension’ conveys an immediate punch, with crunching beats and an unremitting delivery, while the fractured ‘Six Feet Under In Love’ stutters and sparkles, before the dark and whirling dimensions of ‘Cold Black Heart’. Underground and uncompromising to the core; recalcitrant.

Underground and uncompromising to the core, Makaton’s music is consistently supported and charted by Surgeon, Dave Clarke and James Ruskin, among other techno luminaries.
His’s exhilarating liveset has seen him bolster the techno scene across the UK, Europe and in the US.
