As a DJ I  am always trying to break my patterns. Never want to fall into a musical rut! One of the ways I do this is by inviting dancers to suggest songs for me to build into a set. Recently one of our regular dancers had a birthday on a Saturday and wanted to celebrate with us in the dance  At my request for a song suggestion she sent me 12. And I liked her suggestions so much I actually decided to build in 6 of them. The path this led me down while looking for complimenatary tracks opened up a whole new world of musical possibilities. Tango

This is the DJ assisted part of an ecstatic dance journey I co-created in live performance with a group of percussionists. I loved the challenge of finding tracks and putting them together in such a way so that the percussionists had the aural space to support the dance pretty much all the way through - including two longer solo parts we built in that are unfortunately not included in the recording. It was much fun for all who were there.
