We are happy to welcome yet another new face to our ever growing artist roster, though Rico Puestel is definitely not an unknown name for fans of electronic music! Rico is - amongst many other things - a trained pianist, a self-trained guitarist, a drummer, a musicologist, a Zappa enthusiast, a struggler, a neurotic, a martyr of art and, most-notably: A genuine, perpetually driven music producer! Gregor has been a fan of Rico´s music for years, and - being blown off his socks by his recently released full length album Obi Thine Xi - had to ask Rico for some original music to be released on Break New Soil. Et voila: „Afar“ landed in our mailbox like a beacon of light in these dark times for club culture! On top of the three outstanding original tracks, we couldn´t be happier to have Alexander Kowalski working his magic on „Axioms". Once again, Alexander delivered an example to underline his status of being one of the most in-demand producers in the realm of modern electronic music! To round things off we are stoked to present a full-on peaktime rework of „Afar“ by the duo of the moment that is Joyhauser! We believe we have quite the package for you to enjoy!

If you are into Techno, it’s next to impossible that you have not come across Camea in your journey. Originally from America’s northwest rave scene, her move to New York in the early 00’s was pivotal in breaking her out globally as a DJ and producer. Camea’s time there was not wasted there; she founded Clink Recordings and is cited as a key member of New York’s next wave of techno – a scene that built the cornerstone of what is their current immense community and scene. Following her move to her current home Berlin, Camea joined forces with Ellen Allien’s legendary Bpitch Control as a mainstay touring artist and DJ. Fast forward to today and Camea runs the forward thinking techno imprint Neverwhere Records and in 2020 released her debut full length “Dystopian Love”.

We admit that we are long over due having Camea on SPEICHER and anticipate that time is made up as she has delivered a double header of epic Techno ferocity. “Awakening” hits where it counts – a dramatically cool, full throttle kick drum beats through an eerie mist of stabbing keys. Berlin vocalist and dear friend Saskia Krause teams up with Camea on vocals on the acid squelching, peak time ripper “Feel You”. Will Clarke has been making huge waves over recent time and reinterprets “Feel You” by immersing the original in an old school house groove. The result is massive and big room ready for the summer festival stages.

Music is our sole driving force. Eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity are the values we cherish. To achieve this, 3 or 4 artists from different musical backgrounds will come together on each release.
All of our artists, whether known or unknown, will work under a secret code name so that their true identities remain out of the public domain to avoid any preconceived ideas or a particular bias. By doing this, the music will always come first. Each release will be identified by a simple QR code, which, when flashed, will take you to a web page that will give, among other things, the artist's code name.
In the current market, most digital and vinyl sales occur over an average period of 2 months. Once this time period has elapsed, the true identity of each artist (if they wish) will finally be revealed on our web site. It is only then, two months after the release that the artists will be allowed to start communicating.
Contrary to the usual practice, COD3 QR will search out artists rather than the other way around, so it won't be possible to send us music. The founders of COD3 QR will also remain anonymous because their identities must not affect the image, expectations or perception of the label. To ensure anonymity, all of our artists will sign a contract agreeing to keep silent or be economical with the truth about the identity of those behind the label and the artists.
The music alone will be the reason why we sign an artist, and we want music to be the only reason for people to take an interest and engage with the label. For this to succeed, we must remain free of all expectations and all prejudices because only one thing counts: the music, The Music, THE MUSIC in every shape and form!
