Jon Dasilva & Jozef K deliver two separate mixes of their composition ‘Maresme’. A dreamy hypnosis defined by its distinctive, warm bassline.

Jon Dasilva draws on some early leftfield trance and acid sounds. Spaced out drones and reverberating drum hits float across that memorable bassline, jazzy chords and psychedelic synths. The track builds in an entirely different way, forming a perfect late-night set opener with its expert use of arrangement.
 
Jozef K’s Manchester Mix is an acid-tinged progression, developing a hypnotic groove from the first kick. The shimmering Roland 303 acid top-line and nostalgic, delayed rave stabs draw on memories from early years of acid house warehouse raves across the U.K. and Manchester’s own seminal institution the Haçienda. Dreaming pads float aloft, racing claps build and subtle arpeggios give the track its distinctive sound.

Last spotted rocking the massive ‘Odysseus’ on Astropolis, complete with a full strength Marc Romboy remix, Bedrock and Ovum affiliate Oniris now makes his second slam on Marc’s label Systematic with three more supersized interplanetary trips…

‘Contact’ direct dials your soul with its crisp arpeggios flailing like tentacles, gradually wrapping around you, squeezing you and pulling you deeper and deep into space. It’s followed by ‘Aliens’… And judging by the tumultuous momentum and bassline grit, it’s not a friendly encounter. Tense, edgy and rough; there’s a classic early 90s Tresor style coded deep in this groove.

Last but not least ‘Orbiter’ marks the slow sojourn home through deep black space and bright twinkling stars. Expect a little cosmic turbulence here and there thanks to the rolling beats and voluminous subs. Another stunning trip from Systematic and Oniris. Safe travels.

Oniris - Orbiter [Systematic Recordings]

Next up is Steve Bug’s epic Chordwalk Empire, which gets three new treatments as a part of the remix competition to celebrate the label's 20 years.

Like the other two releases carefully handpicked by the artist of the orginal track from hundreds of entries, the standard remains incredibly high and each track is more than worthy of this official release.

The first remix comes from Theobald Ringer - a techno producer from Brest in northern France. His deep rework is a heavy hitter - full of energy and drive, yet maintaining a sense of melancholy and emotion that shine through.

Facundo Sosa is behind the 2nd remix here. The producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina takes things yet deeper with a classy, slick version that adds a spacy, cosmic layer to the track.

Finally, Esteban Howell shares his El Bicho Remix, representing the underground electronic scene of Central America. Howell provides a rework featuring a thick, rolling bassline, and crisp percussion to support the shimmering synths - while also adding a welcome balearic house feel.

Listen here to a brand new Spacedisco mixtape filled with personal favorites, 80’s synthesizer disco, breakbeats and melodic deephouse. Another 2,5-hour journey through the space of my music collection, with tracks from a.o. French 79, Red Axes, Marc DePulse, Trikk and Leafar Legov.
