"This mix contains several of my current favorite minimal and techno records and also several classic gems of the genre.

For personal reasons, it was recorded at night, with the volume low on the speakers, which complicated the process a bit. It's not my most technically perfect session, but, on the other hand, the situation forced me to make a kind of blend and speech without stridency and this has built a very interesting sleepy atmosphere.

It's the music I could play nowadays at an after hour club and the way I would play it."

Ambient dub is an electronic fusion of ambient and dub reggae, featuring the atmosphere of the former and the Jamaican style basslines, percussion, and psychedelic production techniques of the latter. The name of the genre was coined by the Beyond label with a series of compilation albums of the same name, starting with Ambient Dub Volume 1: The Big Chill in 1992. Waveform Records was also generally considered to be the American counterpart of the Beyond label out of the UK, which was exclusively devoted to the Ambient Dub movement. While the lines are blurred between these electronic genres, ambient dub can genuinely be discerned by its denser atmospheres, slow tempo, a heavier use of reverb and/or delay, and an emphasis on bass akin to traditional dub. It also echoed dub pioneers who used their studio as an instrument, like King Tubby and The Scientist.

Ambient - Dub : The Big chill (1992 - 1996)

Under The Grey Lamp is radio show dedicated to exploring the depths of underground electronic music, emanating from industrial cities like The Hague and beyond. It is a sonic journey that transcends borders, time, and conventions as we delve into the pulsating beats and innovative sounds of the electronic underground.

Hosted by DSRPTURS, a DJ & Engineer based in Scheveningen, has been in the local underground radio and Club scene since a decade, performing for legendary Radio Tonka, Stranded FM and Bunker Label parties, at venues like The grey space in middle, De besturing, Club Laak, Le Quartier and WEST to name a few.

“Under The Grey Lamp” is curated experience, showcasing the evolution of electronic sounds across different eras. From the gritty and raw essence of Bass and Electro to the mind-bending rhythms of Acid and Techno, and the dark, atmospheric vibes of EBM and wave – the show is a melting pot of sonic diversity.

We invite underground talents from around to share their stories, influences, and perspectives. 

The show features exclusive DJ sets that traverse the vast landscape of electronic genres. 

For the underground to rise and be heard.

Here is how it all began! 
Playtime : 12pm - 2pm 

Hailing from The Hague, floating between Paris and Berlin, being influenced by music scenes from all of those cities Sylvia OTM (On The Moon) delivered us an opening set from outer space by blending genres, letting us all soak it in as he hit play.  Sylvia OTM knows well how important it is to begin a twelve hour ride! We couldn't have imagined a better way to start this journey at the very first event of Tropic of Keys! Hope you'll enjoy as much as we did and let him transport you to the moon and back!

Deep sea species exhibit lower changes of entropy and enthalpy compared to surface level organisms, since a high pressure and low temperature environment favors negative enthalpy changes and reduced dependence on entropy-driven reactions. From a structural standpoint, globular proteins of deep sea fish the tertiary structure of G-actin is relatively rigid compared to that of surface level fish. That proteins in deep sea fish are structurally different from surface fish is apparent from the observation that actin from the muscle fibers of deep sea fishes are extremely heat resistant; a similar to what is found in lizards. These proteins are structurally strengthened by modification of the bonds in the tertiary structure of the protein which also happens to induce high levels of thermal stability. Proteins are structurally strengthened to resist pressure by modification of bonds in the tertiary structure. Therefore, high levels of hydrostatic pressure, similar to high body temperatures of thermophilic desert reptiles, favor rigid protein structures.
