This was a bumper I made for the Yacht or Nyacht spin-off of the Beyond Yacht Rock podcast back in mid-2018. The show rated songs based on how much they belonged to the Yacht Rock genre by the very fellows who invented the term. Anything that scored over 50% on the Yachtski Scale were allowed on the boat, but the songs scoring over 90% were deemed Essential to the genre.

They used some of my bumpers for a few episodes of their regular podcast, so when I had the idea to make a special sound for these Essential tracks, I thought I might have a shot at contributing something even more permanent. I studied the most Essential Yacht Rock song ever--What a Fool Believes (100% score)--then fired up the e-piani in ProTools and recorded six different versions for them to choose from. Unfortunately, my timing was terrible as the series ended soon after I pitched my recording. I never got a response with the validation I craved, so now I'm finally sharing it.
