Gimme A Break Records have proudly announced their first release of 2024, teaming up with London-based producer An Avrin to deliver his “Spelunkerer” EP, a collection of mind-boggling leftfield-club productions accompanied by an equally spectacular remix from Leeds-based Stolen Velour. With previous releases on Scuffed Recordings, Slippery Sounds and Erbium Records, An Avrin has developed an unmistakably unique production style characterised by clean sampling, intricate detail, heavy bass and contorting rhythms. Alongside his highly-acclaimed label releases, An Avrin has also garnered substantial attention from the underground club scene through his self-releases and edits, with his flip of Darude’s “Sandstorm” dominating the summer DJ circuit in 2023.

An Avrin once again showcases his inventive production on GABD014. “Cobbert Webb” kickstarts the EP with a monstrous collision of rolling breakbeats and growling basslines, interspersed with Baile-influenced rhythms which only add to the track’s dramatic tension. An Avrin firmly puts his stamp on the modern Electro sound via the EP’s title-track, swiftly followed by the eclectic “Bup” which fuses Techno and Electro drum programming with Grime vocal samples. Following a deceptively innocent introduction, “Conduit” descends into a raucous leftfield take on the Breakbeat / UKG crossover style that has dominated the UK’s underground club scene in recent times. Stolen Velour closes out GABD014 with a spectacular remix of the EP’s title-track. In line with An Avrin’s own disregard for genre boundaries, the Leeds-based producer fuses UK Funky rhythms with Grime bass patches to perfectly complement the diverse sonic palette demonstrated across the EP.

USA’s Jon Hester serves up four heady techno cuts for the second instalment in Rekids’ newly launched techno orientated series Special Projects.

Based in Berlin, Hester’s discography may be humble but it is one of pure quality. The American techno producer has released on Rødhåd’s Dystopian, appeared on a release alongside the likes of DJ Richard, Hinode and Arthur Kimskii (Point Break) on L.A.G., and now joins the Rekids Special Projects series featuring FBK, Markus Suckut and DJ Deep.

Heaving distorted kicks and echoing stabs lay the blueprint to ‘Inertia’ whilst intricate hats make way for metallic melodies. Speeding things up, ‘On The Move’ is a more driving cut in comparison with its trippy atmospherics and crunchy percussion, whereas the surging ‘Short Circuit’ demonstrates syncopated percussion and ominous synths for a rhythmic dancefloor workout. Finally, ‘Neurons’ sees various cosmic elements ebb in and out of the mix for a mesmerising conclusion.

The debut release from Ogma Records is finally here... Ogma Records is the brainchild of the Fuinneamh Festival founder, Luke Reddy aka Lucas.

The labels focus is to explore the sonic spectrum, creating textures, atmospheres and landscapes in sound which are all designed for dancefloor journeying.

This first release is a split EP, featuring two tracks by Lucas and two tracks by the phenomenally talented producer Nathan Jones, under his brand new alias, Snakebite_616

The release has already received huge international and local support from the likes of Freddy K, Ed Davenport aka Inland, Elad Magdasi, Cailín, Mylo Spykers, Jon Hester, Taint, Aeron, Diarmaid O'Meara, and not to forget Berghain resident Boris, reecently dropping Snakebite_616 - Rite Of Passage in his recent HOR podcast.

The Release of the 12'' pressing has seen some delays due to Covid-19 but is scheduled to land February 2021 .
