Robert Cline Jr, a singer/songwriter who's latest album “American Mojo” has received accolades from the ROOTS MUSIC REPORT  (4 out of 4 STARS) and  Americana UK (8/10 Stars). The album features the very artists who pioneered the Alabama Music Revolution! As of 11.21.17, “American Mojo” is now playing on over 200 Americana & Country Stations!! His debut album "All The Right Reasons" was recorded with members of the Subdudes. 

In addition his recording career, Robert  has toured with many notable artists and have been support for Robert Earl Keen, The Drive By Truckers, Buzz Cason, Shiny Ribs, James LeBlanc, Shelley King, Carolyn Wonderland, Guy Forsyth, Paula Nelson, Willis Alan Ramsey and many more!

In addition to performing, Robert collaborates with the Texas Music Café PBS show, hosting, performing and promoting the cultural heritage of the State of Texas. 

Joining Robert on the program today are the find people from the Carpet Bag Theater. During this broadcast they will share some songs and excerpts from the upcoming play “Nothin’Nice”. Written by Linda Parris-Bailey, artistic director of The Carpetbag Theatre, is based on stories collected during a multi-year AmeriCorps project. Nothin’ Nice is the story of a young man forced to confront issues of environmental racism and its impact on his family and community. Raised in the “Lower Nine” or “Ninth Ward”, a community ravaged by toxicity, Lonewolf faces the destruction of the women in his life and discovers his own ability to accept the challenge of leadership. With the guidance of his uncle, a former Civil Right activist; his mother, who is battling cancer; and the young woman who is the mother of his child, Lonewolf learns to accept his role as a Generation X freedom fighter. Musical references allude to the Civil Rights Movement.

From the Subdudes to the Swamers.  Cline has recently relocated to the Shoals and recorded his second album, "American Mojo", at the NuttHouse Recording Studio in Sheffield, AL. American Mojo, was recorded in Sheffield, Alabama in an area known as "The Shoals", with legendary studio musicians including members of the "Swampers." (The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, also known as The Swampers, is a group of American soul, R&B, rock and roll and country studio musicians based in the city of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. They have appeared on more than 75 gold and platinum hits (Source Wikipedia 2016). Robert Cline Jr. began his music career as a collaboration with members of The Subdudes.  John Magnie, produced Cline's debut album "All The Right Reasons," which was released in March 2012.

American Mojo is the record of Cline's journey not only to this place, but the documentary of his baptism as a Troubadour in the roots of American music.  This journey has taken him across the country:  from the crossroads of the Little Goose River in the Big Horn Mountains, across the plains of Kansas, through Texas, Louisiana and beyond.  As Cline followed the songs, they led him to a new home at the banks of the Tennessee River. Cline was inspired, challenged and humbled by the spirit of the people which led him to find his Mojo!
