In 2021, FuFu Records has established a partnership with the NGO: One Tree Planted. A final donation has been made in February 2022 with the sales of the 4 compilations of 2021.

Since the first volume released in March 2021, we have done 3 donations which result in 1900 trees having been planted in the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam & India.

In 2022, FuFu Records will partner with a new NGO to help the reduction of plastic in the ocean, particularly focusing on a project in Indonesia with the NGO Seven Clean Seas: plastic offsetting (https://www.sevencleanseas.com/).

2 USD will represent 1KG removed from Indonesian oceans/beaches... and it will be also used to pay the Indonesian people who remove all the wastes and to teach them correctly.

Melding house and tech flavours across Naarm’s clubscape is Spincycle, the infamous party run by Bex & Terri. Their inaugural release, ‘Wake Me Up’ joins forces of Crayon pioneer Mark Ambrose & Mieka du Franx.

Built on Ambrose’s bouncy piano-organ stabs and shuffling drums, the programming is attuned by a restrained yet precise character. Chunky percussion, elevates the levels of deep house excellence, rocking like a hefty cradle imbuing an infectious groove. Mieka’s voice slices through, “wake me up” reminding us not to get too hypnotized. Listeners embracing each of these levels will have body and soul rewarded. Be careful as darting dancers will be bouncing off the wall with cheeky smiles when those chords hit speakers.

A deep dive into the collaboration reveals the pair met at a gig in 2016. They connected over their passion of underground music before jumping in the studio. It makes one wonder, as it all gels so smoothly, if Mieka’s scintillating vocals or Ambrose’s playing came first. Either way, it gives reason to the alluring soothing effect of ‘Wake Me Up’.  On the flipside is the Dreaming Dub which turns the original into a floating version with pulsating bassline.

Kalahari Oyster Cult, hot on the heels of the La Batterie reissue, are getting right back in your grills with Liluzu's 'What's Your Star Sign?' EP.
One of the highlight of the EP is the wonderful 'Arecca (Bubble Mix)'. A big warm bass gives you a big hug while odd little percs seem to jitter around impatiently waiting for the kick drums to hit. Once they do, a mid tempo breakbeat comes in accompanying a beefy verby acid sound which carries the track long after the drums stop. 
'Arecca' is a piece of spine tingling piece of electro which reaches all the right places courtesy of Liluzu, head of the Vulcan Venti imprint, and he keeps the sound sun kissed and full of warmth. We are not even a month in and Kalahari are already killing it. This is going to be a big year!
