God always goes before us…we don’t know His plan, but He does.  Just two months before the 9-11 attack and my 40th birthday, I was invited to a beginning guitar class taught by my church worship leader. Shortly thereafter I was deployed to Iraq for combat.  We were at Ft Hood for pre-deployment training when our Chaplain reported in one evening. His first words were “I need to find someone who plays guitar!” to which his assistant responded “Staff Sergeant Geoffrion plays guitar and he’s sitting in the next room.”  So, I became the worship leader…I knew 5 chords and three songs! I led worship at our small chapel in Baghdad, wrote my first songs and overcame my fear of getting up in front of people.  On the day I was invited to learn guitar no one had any idea what was about to happen…but God did! I am convinced He chose and prepared me to give encouragement to our soldiers through music.  I'm not sure where God is leading me...but I'm okay with that because He is good.
Since 2004 I've been playing for churches, small church group events, prisons and backyard barbeques. Now, because of all these great tools for independent artists on the internet, I’m crossing into the singer/songwriter domain….never saw this coming!  I’m really having a lot of fun being creative.
