The original version of this song by The Infinity Chamber has an attractive and captivating Pink Floyd vibe to it. That beautiful, melancholic style is what drew me to the song from the beginning. The lyrics, both provocative and moving, still leave me wondering and imagining.

The song depicts a bedroom scene through the eyes of a man who starts to doubt his relationship, his life and life in general and tries to step away from it all. The brutally honest way in which this epiphany of gloom was put into words, generates unexpected sympathy and aversion at the same time. Once the sadness behind the lyrics sinks in, you are helplessly building sympathy for both characters in the scene and that final: “I went and got pissed”, doesn’t even sound mean anymore. It sounds like he deserves the relief.

I hope my version of it does the work justice.

Terra de cegos

This album comes from the afternoons when my grandfather picked me up from school in his Windstar. Detroit passed by the windows as we drove across the city to pick up my grandmother from work, sometimes stopping at Eastern Market for ice cream, sometimes grabbing food in the RenCen. The one constant was smooth jazz on V98.7 playing in the background, my grandfather lightly drumming along as we waited outside "old" Karmanos.

The sound of this album lives inside those memories. These songs carry that feeling forward through the way I create now, with technology that allows me translate those memories into music. Mixing nostalgia with a few modern twists, blending Motown drums with a hint of salsa for my mom on "Motown in Havana", and capturing my father-in-law Fast Freddy's hustling spirit on "Freddy on the Scene", this project brings different shades of smooth jazz together through my own interpretation.

This album is my way of honoring family and the city that raised me, a smooth jazz Detroit story told through the eyes of the boy riding in the passenger seat.

Back in the Closet

It's a blessing to be able to create music and if someone enjoys my work, that's icing on the cake! All blessings come from God.

As a retired DOD Civil Service worker, I have time to record some. I have been recording at home sice around 1990 and some of my tracks are very old.  I‘ve had 50+ years in bands playing music of many types. I still play the club scene 3 to 4 times a month. Life is good!

I'm a Guitarist who likes to write, record and sing many styles of music. Please check out my tracks. I'm also enjoying the occasional collaborations.  Meeting some good friends on here and continuing to grow. Thank you for listening!


Es una bendición poder crear música y si alguien disfruta de mi trabajo, ¡eso es la guinda del pastel! Todas las bendiciones vienen de Dios. Como trabajador jubilado del Servicio Civil del Departamento de Defensa, tengo tiempo para registrar algunos. He estado grabando en casa durante unos 23 años y algunas de mis pistas son muy antiguas. He tenido más de 50 años en bandas tocando música de muchos tipos. Todavía juego en la escena del club de 3 a 4 veces al mes. ¡La vida es buena! Soy un guitarrista al que le gusta escribir, grabar y cantar muchos estilos de música. Por favor, echa un vistazo a mis pistas. También estoy disfrutando de las colaboraciones ocasionales.
