I was born in Chicago in 1954
The stock market crashed and my parents split up
My mom couldn’t take it and she went away.
Me and my dad went to California.
I will always remember the improbable color of blues that could only exist there
Where the sky and the sea meet and became one
The most mesmerizing vision I ever did see. 
I met Ornette Coleman in Long Beach and drank a cup of coffee sitting next to Bob Dylan at a breakfast cafe in New York.
