Piatto

Collectively, the Piatto brother's knowledge and contribution to the history of Dance Music runs deep. Davide being co founder of N.O.I.A one of Italy's first electronic live acts to perform and record with drum machines and synthesizers as early as 1978. It is not surprising then that for Alessandro, following in his brothers footsteps was inevitable and he too became hooked on the incredible new sound palette emanating from the early electronic machines.
During the 80's the Piatto brother's continued to push boundaries in what was then the very infant stages of Dance music with Davide recording tapes, later to be released under the name Klein + M.B.O with releases such as “Dirty Talk” considered to be the first Chicago House Record. During this Time Alessandro grew in confidence as a producer and also taught himself to mix adding DJ skills to his repertoire.
Eventually at the ending of the 90's, Davide and Alessandro joined forces to work on a new N.O.I.A. album for the US label Ersatz Audio which was quickly followed by collaborations with G.D. Luxxe as "Raymond Barry" and released the single "TV Night” which was included in Pete Tong's BBC playlist and Ivan Smugghe's compilation called "Death Disco".
Since 2005 Davide and Alessandro have formed two of the biggest Italian Labels, namely Italo Business and N.O.I.A Records and have released on many labels such as Toolroom, 1605, 303Lovers, Italo Business, Respekt Records, Stereo Seven, Echoes Records. With support from Umek, John Digweed, Dubfire, Da Fresh, David Amo & Julio Navas, Phunk Investigation, Christian Cambas, Axel Karakasis, Spektre, DONS, Fergie, Pan-Pot, Richie Hawtin and more others.
Piatto's passion for music remains the same today as it did in the beginning, with many Beatport top 10's under their belt they certainly show no sign of slowing down.

Banging Techno sets 090 Piatto // Drumloch

Enrico Sangiuliano came up through illegal raves and is now a top DJ who plays all over the world and has his music played by the likes of Adam Beyer and Sven Vath. He has had the longest ever running techno number one on Beatport (his remix of ‘Can You Hear Me’ for DJ Boris on Alleanza) and is one of the best selling artists on the site at any one time. His music comes on Cocoon and Drumcode amongst others, and is powerful, direct stuff for the dance floor.

Written entirely in Italy, “X-Pollination (or cross-pollination) is fundamentally the key factor of growth, consciousness and life,” says the artist. “It’s the way I connect with people, share my passion, fly from one place to another and put many influences and elements into my music.”

The title track is eight minutes of slow burning but hypnotic techno funk with rolling rubber drums and nervy pads. Frazzled synths add post apocalyptic vibes to this main room anthem and many well crafted peaks and troughs along the way help make it even more standout. It is a real techno classic in the making.

Mark Reeve is the UK star who remixes. He has a long history with techno that goes back to the rave scene. Since then his education has taken in trips to techno mecca The Omen, has resulted in music on Cocoon and collabs with Pig & Dan. He has also released on Drumcode and has a big rolling sound that fills the world’s finest clubs and warehouses with his unique grooves. His take on the original is more energetic, with searing synths, cantering kicks and a dark energy that makes you pump your fist and stomp the floor. It is full of drama and is perfect balanced from start to finish.

1. What was the reason for you to interpretate "Solace"?

Music is my way of expressing the life that´s happening to me. There have always been times when it was not framing happy times but also being there for me when i needed it. With this podcast i want to musically be there with understanding, nourishing, uplifting sinewaves in the field of music that i feel at home. 

2. Which track is indicative of this feeling?

The Intro "it´s okay". In the last months i´ve often been confronted with the impermanence of life. I wrote the song in a moment of absolute gratitude and peace when i was realizing that i am connected with somebody by absolute trust and understanding. Experience this moment is worth so endlessly much and gives such deep solace to me - no matter what might happen from this moment on. 
How infinite seemingly passing things can be.
How quickly passing things can be that seem to be infinite.
These songs came to me in the last couple of years from the bottom of my soul. Through life, and love, laughter and loss, and hope, and pain, and truth, and forgiveness. And every layer in between. Music was always there and now it's here for you. To your solace, beautiful soul.

3. Why do you chose your name being MARIA RUHE?

Because it is more personal and as my music is it too i think its closer to what i am and want to express. 

4. Which plans do you have for the future?

All of my own tracks in this podcast are unreleased, so it is a next step to to that. Besides i am working on cooperations with different amazing artists. Of course i love playing - I love to take people with me into to my wild world - happliy looking forward to a lot of great gigs and festivals here in germany and abroad this year.

5. The most important thing in your life is? 

...for me is love. To learn and expand it with friends, family and all the people i meet. Also to learn from its absence and transform with it. Its my motor and what i want to give and feel.

Christian Cambas is back and celebrates his return with an original track on one of his favorite labels.

Keeping things totally subliminal with a haunting melody and an apocryphal vocal snippet, we are kept locked in via the pulsating bass and commanding synths that seem to have been programmed in some kind of dismal future.

A remix from label boss T78 was essential to this release, and the original has been completely flipped on its head, with a big surprise halfway through, as only he knows how. Another brother-in-arms from the other side of the pond is up next, and of course we are talking about Durtysoxxx who based his version on the synth progressions and provided the heads-down vibe of the package.

UK duo Drumsauw seal the deal with a spacious mix, letting their rendition breathe effortlessly while keeping the production crystal clear.

Sanft und majestätisch schweben sie durch ihr Element. Sie sind die Giganten der heutigen Zeit und herrschen weise und wohlwollend in ihrem Reich. Ihre Stärke nutzen sie nicht zu ihrem Vorteil, stattdessen sind sie umsichtig und anmutig. Selten kann man sie aus der Ruhe bringen, ein wahrer Fels in der Brandung. Eine Begegnung mit diesen Wesen aus einer anderen Welt ist ergreifend und überaus faszinierend. 
Wale durchkreuzen unsere Ozeane und wo sie auftauchen sorgen sie für Staunen. Kaum fassbar das solche gigantischen Kreaturen existieren und doch sind sie real. Welch ein berauschendes Erlebnis müsste es wohl sein diese Tiere ein Stück auf ihrer Reise durchs unendliche Blau begleiten zu dürfen. Was würde man wohl denken? Was fühlen? … was würde man wohl hören? Wahrscheinlich wäre es beruhigend und fließend, aber gleichzeitig auch kräftig und treibend. Genauso wie die Bewegungen des riesigen Säugetiers durch die weite See. 
Unser Gast Robosonic hat uns für solche zauberhaften Momente die passende Musik zusammen gemixt. Kräftig treibend zieht das Set an, wie die ersten Flossenschläge des Giganten, bis wir auf Betriebstemperatur sind und uns berauschend dahingleiten lassen können.
