Fixed Frame - Buster Williams' Layered Recording Combo

After their first release in February of last year and Amor Fati’s debut EP in November 2022, Last Love Records are back with a new VA compilation out on March 24th, titled « Somebody Held Me Too Close ».

This new compilation is darker and more club-oriented than the first one, but still featuring a hefty dose of emotional heartbreak tales and pop anthems. The project features tracks by KimberlaiD, bdstf, Technopagan, ACAB@_@ROOKIE, digifae (Diana Starshine + Galen Tipton), Lisa More, ELOI, salome and more ; and draws from the following prompt :

« Time after time, like one big cycle going through the motions of love, I think of you.

Lisa More - Wet Ass Bby [Last Love Records]

a while back, eye had this half-baked eyedea while eye was folding laundry and had ace of base's 1993 hit single "the sign" stuck in my head - eye had a clear VISION of what might make for a humorous rendition, a real goof and a gaffe - that being an edit of the original that simply recycles the first "i" in the opening of the song, over and over, and without using any of the other lyrics - three weeks later, and after plundering the ever-living fuck out of the internet, it's safe to say my initial plans for this edit had gone totally off the rails - anyways, eye worked very hard on this - for obvious reasons, this would never fly at the vinyl plant, and therefore it won't be going on the new album - so i'm dropping it today, for free - hope you find it a real eye-opening experience.

eye thought about listing all the samples, but decided that might take some of the fun out of it - so, sample spotters, do your thing. 👀
