Electronic icon Helena Hauff returns with first new track of 2022 with ‘Touching Plastic’

When it comes to hard-hitting electronic music, there are few more iconic names than Helena Hauff. The Hamburg-born producer and DJ has been less-than-quietly revolutionising the sound of techno and electro since her emergence on the scene at the turn of the 2010s. Her forward thinking style of production and mixing that relies on both genres’ more analog sounds has helped to inform a wildly popular subset of selectors that prefer their sonics hard-edged, hypnotic, and wildly exhilarating. While touring relentlessly over the last 12 months, 2022 has not seen a release from Hauff until today, with the announcement of this 12", Living With Ladybirds; her first EP of 2022 to be released on 11th November via fabric Originals.

Killer, deep and raw techno from rising star ANNĒ.

Soma proudly welcome back Greek up and coming producer ANNĒ for her first solo release with the label, entitled Blossom Tool. Since appearing on a Collective Process VA with Soma, ANNĒ has gone from strength to strength with releases on some coveted imprints and a burgeoning DJ calendar that has taken her across the world. With her new Soma EP, ANNĒ continues to evolve her uniquely deep and groove focussed approach to techno.

Title track Blossom Tool hits the ground running with an infectious groove, stripped back percussion and minimalistic synth work. Cardigan picks the pace up but once again focuses on deep and driven drums backed with perfectly crafted percussive elements. Hideous by name but not by nature, ANNĒ works up a superbly crafted, trippy and hypnotic track that utilises raw grooves and subtle sweeping pads. Off Grid closes out the EP in style and ANNĒ channels early hard groove with it’s driving bass lines, crafty synth hooks and funked out percussion.
