The “Heaven” EP features producer-extraordinaire Leonard Charles at the helm, collaborating with prodigious artists from New Zealand (his home country) and the USA, to create a wildly eclectic E.P. project with the common underlying thread of basement funk knitting it together. This presentation of funk is truly a legitimate foundation for the heads that need it: built upon solid soul/jazz chord progressions and played on original musical equipment/gear from the 80’s and 90’s. The record features an exclusive remix of the song “Nine Lives” that he co-wrote with boogie/funk legend Leroy Burgess, and additionally features stellar collaborations with Guilty Simpson, Zyah Belle, Reality Jonez and A.C. Freazy.

Celebrating the news that the majority of Brazil's Supreme Court judges voted NO on Marco Temporal! 

Hallelujah!

 ... But, there's still more work to do.  

Members of Brazil's congress have now declared they will work to change Brazil's constitution to justify the heinous principle of "Marco Temporal".

For now there's been a "No" vote on this latest heinous attack on Indigenous Rights, and all humanity's planetary survival.
But factions within Brazil's government still are pushing to force "Marco Temporal" through. 

As a person who has deep gratitude and admiration for the land and people of Brazil, and who has benefited deeply from the inspiration and education of the music born from that land, I couldn't sit and watch this vote come-up without adding my voice to the chorus of communities tirelessly advocating to stop this (continued) violation of the land, and Indigenous people & territories of Brazil.

 One late night in Rio De Janeiro, a group of passionate musicians gathered in the studio to pool our talents and energies, and encourage all parties involved to say "NO" to Marco Temporal. 

We created this song with the hope its energy and message would contribute to the advocacy efforts pressuring the Brazilian courts and congress to reject Marco Temporal. 

 We acknowledge we are not on the deadly front lines of this battle. We stand in solidarity, and send prayers for protection and success to all those who are.
 
We hope and pray that this music -and your participation in it!- sends support, added visibility and energy to efforts of Indigenous communities throughout Brazil, and to the sacred and endangered being which is the Amazons herself.
