"I started writing for this project in 2019 after being in the studio with Lianne La Havas and Geo Jordan. We initially wrote "Don't Let Me Drown" and I just felt at the time that I was coming into a new space within my artistry. I was feeling really self-reflective about my experiences, my upbringing and how I was feeling about my place in the world at that time. It kind of spiralled me into writing the rest of the music for this project and really opened me up to write some of the most vulnerable music i've written yet. I feel like it's a strong, honest representation of who I am and where I'm at right now artistically. A testament to my home, Nova Scotia, Canada, nature, and just being on a constant journey of self-discovery."
