I planned on sharing this later today, but it's 2:07 am and I'm living in the lower 9th Ward, New Orleans where just heard the biggest thunder boom I've ever heard since I've been living here. Truly scared the shit outta me. (I remember what I saw on TV in 2005 and I've dedicated a lot of time and energy to learn about the experiences of the families effected by the blame game the government played in the aftermath.) First thing I did was jump up and check to make sure nothing catastrophic was happening. You see, the sound of the thunderstorm didn't scare me. It was the fact that I was born as a black man and I could be a victim of prejudice, corruption, hate, racism and greed in America and it go unnoticed. The whole world could come to my rescue and it still not be enough to save my life or leave a positive legacy behind for my children, family and friends. It hit me that even tho my birthday is in a couple of days now, that day ain't promised.

This project is the true accounts of the man that was that baby you see jumping on the couch. Me. Robert Jay! These stories, these feelings and these ideas are all told with the intention to heal the little boy in me and to encourage others to heal the little person in them. I'm sharing the map I used. Once we begin acknowledging the feelings that we neglected in that little person, we can begin to heal on all levels. This is it. This is just the beginning.
