S'astore is a falcon, a hunter, always waiting until the last instant before diving into a fast and often decisive attack. It is always totally aware of everything that surrounds it - the shapes, the sounds, the colours, the movements. 
This piece is a journey, seen through the falcon's eyes, over my land and my past.

(dedicated to my father)
Milan, one day in June. I had just returned from Sardinia, still shaken by the loss of
my father. I find my guitar but no will to play it and a need to call home. I make the
call and chat to my sisters, my brother and my mother, but someone was
missing….so, after hanging up with that feeling inside me, I pick up my guitar and
imagine the phone call that never happened, and the notes burst out of me. I would
have told him about the next tour, the latest reviews, the projects I had finished and
those I was about to begin and I am sure that, with his reassuring smile, he would
have told me: “If you are happy, then it’s ok”.

LAX airport, a beautiful sunny day, my day off before heading back to a snow covered Milan, knowing full well that I had just made a huge dream come true but lost one just as big.

Deus Ti Salvet Maria (Sardinian Traditional with Weissenborn)

Linate Airport, so many hours waiting for the flight, the last page of the book is read, I pick up the guitar and start to play, not worrying about whoever is looking at me. I get lost between the notes even if I don’t have any stories to tell today. 
I look up and see her, a little French girl curiously looking at me . I smile at her and she runs away. She goes to her grandmother nearby saying her that I have a guitar. Her grandmother encouraged her with a smile to come and listen to me, but she says she wants to dance. 
So, instead of telling a story, I begin to play to let her dance. At that moment, in my head, the whole airport starts dancing and playing a simple and ancestral rhythm. Airport Dance was born interrupted only by the time I had to boarding, but with a huge smile on my face.

Aeroporto di Linate, tante ore di attesa davanti a me, l'ultima pagina del libro è finita, prendo la chitarra e inizio a giocarci con le dita, non curante degli sguardi torvi dei passanti mi perdo tra le note anche se oggi non ho storie da raccontare. 

Alzo lo sguardo e vedo lei, una bambina francese che mi osserva con curiosità, le sorrido e scappa via. 

Va dalla nonna poco lontano e le fa notare che ho una chitarra, la nonna con un sorriso rassicurante la incoraggia a venire ad ascoltarmi, ma lei risponde che ha voglia di ballare. 

Così, anziché raccontare una storia inizio a suonare per farla ballare e nella mia testa in quel momento oltre lei tutto l'aeroporto sta ballando e suonando con noi un ritmo semplice ma quasi ancestrale. 
Così è nata Airport Dance, interrotta solo dal momento di imbarcarsi per un viaggio affrontato con un enorme sorriso stampato sulla faccia.

I was sitting with my guitar in my hands, I looked the sun slowly going down behind the Saracen tower and finally dive into Vignola's sea. I waited as if I was looking for something, I waited for a long time that night, but that something didn't arrive, but this song came to life.

Seduto con in braccio la mia chitarra, osservavo il sole che piano piano scendeva per andare dietro la torre Saracena e infine tuffarsi nel mare di Vignola in Sardegna. 

Attendevo, come cercando qualcosa, ho atteso a lungo quella sera, ma quel qualcosa non è arrivato, in compenso è nata questa canzone.

Looking For

Suburban Geek, an Australian friend showed me a photo and told me a story. It was a love story. A young couple was sitting in front of the rising sun on the roof of a Canadian house. Despite the Canadian cold, her smile warmed everyone who ran into her. 
This are my notes for a long long love story with a beautiful happy ending.

Suburban Geek, un amico Australiano mi ha raccontato una storia mostrandomi una foto. 
Una storia d'amore, una giovane coppia di fronte al sorgere del sole sul tetto di un palazzo Canadese. 

Nonostante il freddo Canadese il suo sorriso scaldava chiunque lo incrociasse. 
Questa è la mia interpretazione di una lunga storia d'amore con un bellissimo lieto fine.

Last Goodbye

Sardinia’s Nuragic civilisation has always fascinated me and every 
time I get a chance to absorb its energies in front of a Nuraghe, a 
Dolmen or any of these sacred places, I try to imagine their habits and life moments. Here I tried to tell my vision of some of those moments: hunting, everyday's life, a Sardinian dance around the fire with the sound of 
Launeddas on the background, a war moment or a war rest, family life
and who knows what else.

La civiltà nuragica della Sardegna mi ha sempre affascinato e tutte le volte che ho la possibilità di assorbirne le energie davanti ad un Nuraghe, un Dolmen o in uno qualsiasi di questi sacri luoghi cerco di immaginarne le abitudini e i momenti di vita. 

Qua ho cercato di raccontare la mia visione di alcuni di questi momenti, la caccia, la vita di tutti i giorni, un ballo Sardo intorno al fuoco a suon di Launeddas, un momento di guerra o di attacchi da parte di gruppi nemici, la mediazione della tregua, la vita famigliare e chissà quant'altro.

Nuraghes

During one of my journeys, tired after kilometres and concerts, I fall into the arms of Morpheus. He leads me to a beautiful dream, in which a Banjo and Saxophone duo play this song. I wake up with those notes still in my head and I shudder to hear them played by my guitar. This is the consequence of my dream on that plane.

In uno dei tanti viaggi aerei, con la stanchezza accumulata dopo km e concerti, cado tra le braccia di Morfeo che mi conduce in un bellissimo sogno, in cui un duo di Banjo e Sassofono suonano questo brano, mi sveglio con ancora in testa quelle note e le appunto fremendo per sentirle suonate dalla mia chitarra. Questo è il risultato di un sogno in aereo.

Dreaming on a Plane

For 20 years I watched Mount Limbara, dreaming about what I could find beyond it. I always had a fervid imagination and I dreamed the 
adventures that I would live once I took flight. 
Once I left my land, I began to discover what lay on the other side of 
the mountain. The adventures were even more exciting than I could imagine. Take the bare essentials, we travel light and 
I'm going to take you on a journey with me. It starts with its roots 
firmly planted in Luras' hills and goes far beyond that mountains.

Per 20 anni ho osservato il monte Limbara sognando cosa avrei potuto trovare aldilà di esso. 
Ho sempre avuto una fervida immaginazione e sognavo le avventure che avrei vissuto una volta preso il volo. 
Quando sono partito dalla mia terra ho iniziato a scoprire cosa si 
nascondeva dall'altra parte della montagna e le avventure in alcuni 
casi hanno addirittura superato la mia immaginazione. Prendi il 
necessario, viaggiamo leggeri, ti porto con me a fare un viaggio che 
parte con le radici ben salde nelle colline di Luras per andare molto 
oltre la montagna.

The Other Side of The Mountain

All the big cities have a special charm, partly due to their melting pot that you can listen, feel and taste everywhere. In this song, I tried to describe a long time spent in London. 
Walk, take the tube and each station takes you to a different place of the world, with its smells, colours, faces and music. So, at each stop, you can meet a folk band, or bands playing Indian music, rock music and more. This song is a walk around London, stop after stop.

Le grandi città hanno tutte un fascino particolare, in parte dovuto alla multiculturalità che si respira, si ascolta e si può vivere. In questo brano ho cercato di raccontare un periodo speso a Londra. 
Cammini, prendi la metropolitana ed ogni stazione ti porta in un luogo nuovo del mondo, con i suoi profumi, i colori, le facce e la musica. 
Così ad ogni fermata puoi incontrare una folk band, un gruppo che suona musica indiana, rock e tanto altro. Questo brano è una passeggiata per Londra, fermata dopo fermata.

Walking in London

In front of my hometown, Luras, there is a mountain that overlooks the hills and valleys called Mount Limbara. I always imagined it to be a great patriarch watching over us and checking that we were safe. As a child, I tried to imagine what lay beyond it, and I dreamed of a time when I could go to the other side to experience new  adventures.

Davanti al mio paese natio, Luras, domina sui colli e le vallate una montagna, il monte Limbara. L'ho sempre immaginato come un grande patriarca che ci osservava e controllava che stessimo al sicuro. Da bambino provavo ad immaginare cosa ci fosse oltre e sognavo il momento in cui sarei andato dall'altra parte per vivere nuove 
avventure.
