Turbo explores the future primitive with NEW JACK TRIBAL. First instalment in this new series comes courtesy of emerging Canadian talent: @Clariannorth, @Hreno, @MikeMind and label A&R @VonParty.

Bridging the gap between the psychedelic world-beat of newly launched sister-label Multi Culti and Turbo’s forward-looking techno and house stylings, these four tracks offer distinct yet consistently straightforward takes on the tribal trance-out. 

Visionquest-native Clarian’s icy-cool ‘Inuit’ kicks things off with a super hypnotic groove… the perfect soundtrack to an acid-ice-fishing trip gone right and an optimal DJ tool for the very early or very late hours. 

Berlin-resident and Canadian ex-pat Hreno (Fur Trade, Autochtone, etc) is next up with ‘Tree Trunks,’ an expertly assembled rhythm track built on top of a bubbling bassline sure to get the party rolling. 

Turbo and Multi Culti A&R Thomas Von Party takes the party from the forest into the jungle with ‘Pygmy Funk,’ an overtly primitive journey built on wood knocks, bird sounds and the deep throb of tom and bongo. 

Finally, the supremely-talented Mike Mind turns in a downtempo bomb that will highlight your cave-party playlist.

A fixture on Adam Beyer’s Techno institution Drumcode for over half a decade, Southampton’s Alan Fitzpatrick is a marquee name in the world of Techno. Pairing pummeling grooves with infectious lead lines, cute melodies and uplifting arpreggios, Fitzpatrick has secured a reputation as a producer of anthems – with this status finding him consistently in hot demand at clubs around the continent. Set to be released on the cusp of summer, Fitzpatrick’s latest three tracker ‘Falling Down’ looks to see him dominating dancefloors once again over the coming months.

A few years ago the pairing of Fitzpatrick with Paul ‘Scuba’ Rose’s Hotflush may have seemed somewhat unlikely, although recently the label’s inclination for big room sounds and the artist’s flair for musicality appear to have converged. The results of this musical perfect storm is ‘Falling Down”s title track -available to stream in full below. Rhythmically a little softer than Fitzpatrick’s Drumcode work, this one is all about the brazen stylings of the synth part – ruggedly scaling the heights of euphoria. Backed with another Fitzpatrick original in the shape of ‘Vanishing’ and a remix of the lead track from newcomer Auden – the EP is out next Monday 4th May.

It's been a long time in the making. From their early days as label-mates on the legendary Gigolo records, these two dons have remixed each other, DJ'd back-to-back, even worked on the same motion picture together (Ivory Tower), but not until now have they teamed up so completely, or to such devastating effect. On the eve on BNR's 10 year celebrations, where the two will headline a series of 6 shows together, Turbo proudly presents '100.'

Both producers come through clearly: the slamming drums and acid Boys Noize has so thoroughly mastered, the clever vocal hooks, catchy basslines and ravey breakbeat flourishes that are the feathers in Tiga's boa - the best of both artists are brought together here, with a distinct nod to their electro roots. It's an immediate winner, asserting it's sonic prowess through a flawless arrangement, confidently proclaiming it's perfection in a slick, round triple-digit. One-hundred.

The magic, as in Mind Dimension, Let's Go Dancing, or Bugatti, is for packaging true pop into a compact, techno power-punch that leaves underground cred intact. Both Tiga and Boys Noize are outstandingly versatile DJs who consistently yearn for something more than the obvious tropes of EDM, embracing extremes, fitting in the esoteric, being connoisseurs of a multitude of micro-genres of electronic music. 'Jam #1' is an ode to these low-slung techno roots, a stripped-down bonus beat that lays down the law of the drum machine, and sets the stage for the forthcoming '808 IRAQ' pulled from the same Berlin studio-session, soon to be released on BNR.

Dutch newcomer @trace7000music turns in a slamming debut EP.

When Turbo A&R sign a new artist, take note. The Montreal label that broke @Gesaffelstein , @dukedumont , @azariandiii , and even @chromeo have a proven track record for discovering the next big thing in electronic music. This time around it’s 22 year old Ferdous Dehzad, from a small town outside Eindhoven.

The four-track debut showcases the young DJ’s versatility and production prowess. Title track ‘Acid Habits’ sounds like golden-era M_nus, you can just see this wrecking Watergate on a great night. ‘End to End’ odes to @danielavery with marked precision, building and releasing with floor-filling skill. ‘I Believe U’ is a cool Euro-take on groovy Chicago house, while the final cut ‘Merino’ surprises with what is arguably the most potent track of all, a devastating roller of a track that has been punctuating some of @tiga ’s biggest sets this year. Massive!
