The Tree & The Moon is the long awaiting new Neo Classical album from Christof R Davis, featuring 10 tracks that tell a series of nocturnal tales set in an English Woodland just metres from his home. 

Featuring a host of guest artists including his brother Mikey Davis on Sax, guitar wizard Jono Wright, exciting young musician ALX and a Rome based String Quartet. 

The full album features two bonus tracks in addition to the 10 tracks from the album.

The Canon from 'Kvarteto' by Adrián Demoč, the first movement of his 'Kvarteto' (2017), played by Apartment House - Anton Lukoszevieze, cello, Mira Benjamin, violin, Heather Roche, clarinet & Philip Thomas, piano.  From a portrait CD of Adrián Demoč's music to be released on Another Timbre late in 2019.

Il sottotitolo della composizione  si riferisce a tre bellissimi brani sul dolore:  “Lasciatemi morire” dal Lamento di Arianna di Claudio Monteverdi , “Erbarme dich” dalla Passione secondo Matteo di J. S. Bach - e “Nymphes de bois” di J. Des Pres .
I  frammenti desunti da queste opere vocali, sono l’unico ‘materiale’ con cui è costruita la composizione.  Appaiono, più o meno riconoscibili,  in ordine successivo nelle varie parti della composizione, a partire da Monteverdi fino a Josquin,  per sovrapporsi via via, confondendosi, grazie ai tanti elementi musicali in comune.

Born in 1982, Roberto studied composition with Paolo Rotili and Alberto Meoli, graduating with honours from the Ottorino Respighi Conservatory in Latina (Italy).
He went on to study with Alessandro Solbiati and Salvatore Sciarrino conducting research focused on contemporary music, always pursuing freedom of choice and melody as the most important means of artistic expression while composing. 

His music - from orchestra to solo instrument - has been performed in festivals and venues such as Atlante Sonoro-Freon Musica, Festival Pontino, Le Forme del Suono, Teatro dell’Arte-Milano Triennale, Casa del Jazz-Roma, Musica Futura-Ismez, New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, Nuova Consonanza, Akademia Muzyczna im. Krzysztofa Pendereckiego w Krakowie, Brisbane's 4MBS Performance Studio, Kunstkerk-Dordrecht and University of Denver (CO, USA).

In 2013 he won the Premio Nazionale delle Arti Miur-Afam first prize with a piece for flute and pre-recorded sounds, while “Quartetto” for four mixed flutes has recently been a finalist in the National Flute Association USA contest (Newly Published Music Awards 2022 category).

His works are published by Bèrben-Curci, AltrEdizioni, Casa Musicale Sonzogno, Ema Vinci, Ars Spoletium, Wonderful Winds, Da Vinci Publishing and NOOX.
