Commissioned by the 2014 'wednesdays at the forge' concert series, premiered by Huw Watkins. This miniature explores the intimate and personal expression of lost innocence, as described in the medieval text. The piece is essentially a set of three variations (in reverse) taking Brahms' 'Sleep softly my child' as it's melodic backbone.
