Originally released under the name P.R.G. this was my first and thus far only commercial release of electronic music. I was still learning the ropes of producing beats when I made this and although the sound quality could be better, I'm very pleased with the way my first production effort turned out. This song is basically a digital love letter to three styles of breakbeat that helped mold me - funky Florida breaks, acidic Arizona electro breaks and Orbital's brand of trippy trancey breakbeat. The lead synth sounds throughout are all heavily influenced by Orbital. I'm stoked about breaking this one out of the vault and getting it online again finally. 2020 Remix on the way!

PuRGe Original Orbit Mix

The first track I ever finished as a producer and the B-side to the Purge single. I hadn't listened to this track in so long I forgot how much I liked it. Not bad for a first production effort IMO. This track is highly influenced by the slightly downtempo breakbeat style popularized by the Bombshelter DJ's in Phoenix, AZ (Emile, Z Trip and DJ Radar) so I have to give props there. Funky and atmospheric, this track is definitely a product of me coming up in the 90's Phoenix scene. Funky and trippy with a touch of trance elements to smooth things out. Featuring Roxy Bovia on vocal.

Introspect

Recorded live on the air from the now defunct Brainkast Studios in Tempe Arizona, this 2000 mix was one of the last mixes I recorded in Arizona before moving to Los Angeles in 2001. The fusion of progressive breakbeats, techno, house and trance stompers provides one of the best recorded representations of the more mature DJ style and sound that I had curated over the last few years of the 90's. There's some fire tracks in this mix. Hope you enjoy my Y2K vibes.

This track was originally recorded to be included on a Gametightelectro album but it was cut because its melodic trippy breakbeat sound didn't fit the vibe of the more traditional underground hip hop beats on the rest of the album. That was around 2000 and this track has been collecting dust since then so it's time to get it out there finally.
