Found your project while searching for ways to share what my tinnitus sounds like. Mine isn't quite as nice as yours ;) a lot higher pitched. Thanks for this, it's fascinating

I decided to undertake a sound experiment, to very closely replicate my tinnitus with modular synthesizer. Turn it down so that you can barely hear the various elements. The tones should settle in just about where they are in my head when the room is very quiet. The dominant drone is a cluster of sine waves modulating about a whole-tone between a flat G and A (around ±A430 or so.) There is a chattering noise that slightly resembles AM radio voices, a very high cloud of pitches (about 10 kHz) and a few sine waves just slightly out of tune at octaves in the upper midrange (1.1 and 2.3 kHz.) I did this as an exercise, but also as an example for people who wonder what it would sound like if you could actually record someone's inner perceptions.
