Program note:

In this piece, I wanted to reflect my time in London. It is an incredibly diverse city that managed to surprise me everyday with something new and exciting to show; both frantic and calm, modern and traditional, noisy and harmonious, I felt that in order the reflect its multifacetedness the music had to be in a constant change and even contradict itself at times. London is like a small world, so the piece tries to reflect that by showing extremely different parts of it. 

And, because London's fun, I made it into a dance piece!

01 Piano trio no 2_ Adriatic

Mermaids are awesome; they are creatures of out-of-this-earth beauty, living happily under the sea. Then again, they only pose as such to lure in their prey and drown them. Rather than depicting a mermaid, I hope that in a concert setting this piece will act like one.

Dream of a Mermaid

Aurinko, Isäni is a composition for two female choirs and two soloists to Nils-Aslak Valkeapää's text. The poem lauds the Northern Sun and landscape, adhering to the deep connection between them and the poet.

The piece was awarded the 3rd Prize in Eviva and Exaudio's composition competition for female choir.
