It's my Deep House remix of one of my own tracks called 'Level 52', which originally came out on Yoruba Records. 

This remix never saw it's proper release due to label complications. Months later, It suddenly appeared on a Kenny Dope & Karisma's Soul Heaven compilation. Hmmm..wonder who they got the master from?

The distributor at that time had just gone bust, and I never got paid. Welcome to the music industry!

The good news is it's now track listed officially on Louie Vega's new 'Mad Styles & Crazy Visions 2'  out in June of 2011 on BBE, and yes...I finally got paid :)

International music producer, Robert Strauss (originally born in Canada) has a musical history dating back to his first Major-Label signing as a Singer / Songwriter in 1993. 
 
Robert Strauss' music in the dance realm (Mid 2000's) found home on UK imprints BBE, Freerange Records, Soul Jazz Records,  Defected Records, Tokyo Dawn Records and on compilations by the likes of Louie Vega, Kenny Dope , Dimitri From Paris, Osunlade, Dj Spinna and Joey Negro. It's also found him collaborating with incredibly talented artists: Leroy Burgess, Baatin (Slum Village), Moka Only, Richie Hennessey, Ayah, Saidah Baba Talibah, Wayne Tennant aswell remixed by Recloose, Jimpster, Henrik Schwarz, Joey Negro & Osunlade 

Since his first vinyl release as producer in 2004, Strauss has worked under various aliases including the synth funk themed 'Japhy Saatchi' solo work, as band leader for London's retro jazzy / soul group) Personal Life, whilst producing hundreds of tracks under various aliases (see below).

Currently based in Brighton (UK), Robert Strauss continues to produce at WAX Recording Studio for artists globally including: Pahua, Andrew Roachford, Eneeks / Omar, HOLT, Goodfoot and beyond
