The End Times Timeline, Part 1: The Grand Timeline

Back in 2008, I started my songwriting again through a long absence. Throughout my life, I've been influenced by a great number of people and sometimes those ideas can leak into my songwriting. When I was finished with my first song, I read the lyrics to my then-fiance, my very honest fiance. When I was finished, she looked at me, smiled, a polite smile, and didn't say anything. Now, as a songwriter, you know what that means,..the song was just "ok". What I had done is wrote someone else's song and not my own, so I scrapped it and came up with this one, my song.

This is about, well me, before I was saved and the life I led and the eventual end if I didn't come to Jesus.

Two Steps Back

Before my wife and I dated, tragedy visited her in the death of her child. I knew then, just as I know now that while she goes through life and has joy, she has a little bi of sadness that she carries with her. In watching her deal with this loss and still have a vicorious life through Jesus, I started my path back to the Lord. My beautiful wife understands that one day, she will see her son again, and they will be dancing in the Sun.

I feel a need to explain the song's "feel". The death of a child is horrible and I don't mean to make light of it with the upbeat feel. My reason for the vibe of the tune is to reflect what I saw in my wife. She had "saddness in her song" throughout her days and, to be sure, she carries some saddness over the loss of her child, but every day, she rests in the assured hope that she will be reunited with him, that he's in a far better place.
