The Trial

This track describes Kett's last night on earth followed by and instrumental written and performed by Scot (part one) and Andy (part two). It was so difficult to get the vocal right on this one due to the key step up and me insisting it was done in one take. I think I always saw this as a stage production.

The Cell Song/Kett's Dream

A song I wrote for a CD produced by Trevor Ash called 'Haiku' 
Although fun the original song had verses and was about a guy trying to win a weird girl who was addicted to No.7 make-up. Maybe I'll record it one day.

Haiku No.7

I wrote this song when I was 17 for a very dear friend, Jane Crowley (nee Hopkinson). Sadly she passed away earlier this year, luckily she got to hear this version. Thanks to Dororthea Bergman for the low whistle, vocals & Cello.

Been waiting quite a while to finish this one. Still not mixed to my satisfaction but it's a fair representation of what I was thinking about.
Was looking at some old photos and then started thinking about a song of life. Here's the result.

Without You

This was meant to be a rap type song for someone else. A friend had just died and I got to thinking how songs don't always tell of a life, just the happy or sad bits. I suppose its a musical in 3 minutes! 
I had ideas of twangy Gibson electro-acoustic sounds which Andy Walker provided. One day I'll record it properly.

A seasonal number from my old group Tallis. A lovely bunch of people, Gary Cole-Wilkin(GCW) Thea Bergmann and Carole Lee. Sadly, a tribute to the wonderful Greg Lake.

I Believe in Father Christmas

Recorded with Kevin Drewit circa 1988/89 when he stayed for a bit. One of Richard Thompson's finest songs. From the moment I heard this track I loved it. It contains one of the best lines ever written "The smell of her hair was like cornfields in May" 
This was an early 4 track 'Home Studio' so it took a good bit of work for Kevin to rescue it & clean it up.
Hope you think it was worth it.
