I Remember Mix

Rob Ellis (Robot Man Machine) has been pushing the electronic music sound button since 1997 when he purchased his first digital synth. Though familiar with analog synthesizers and such in the 80's and being from Chicago, he wanted to spin and produce Housemusic, as its been in his blood since the tender age of 6. He also picked up Spinning Housemusic in 98 and thus began his DJing career in 99. Although he would mostly would play Housemusic, he also has a deep love for Synth Pop, New Wave and Industrial music. His inspirations range from Mr. Fingers and Human League to Jan Hammer and Sister Machine Gun. Growing up in a family who has a huge love for diverse music, insured him a different stand point on his track selection while in his set. This helped him gain bookings not by popularity and hype, but the sound he relays to the audience in a mix by track selection through musical knowledge. From 99-2004 he played all over the Chicagoland area opening for many well known artists from Charles Feelgood to Paul Okenfold. In the height of his DJ career, Rob (Under the Aliases Unit 1 & Ellis DJ) moved to Tucson Arizona where he collaborated with a few other artists/DJs and formed the "Equal House-ing Lenders", an Electronic music DJ trio who held a residency at Vaudeville Cabaret and nights at other various night spots in Tucson AZ. A few years later, he has moved home Chicago to work on a music production. Now back from a long awaited hiatus and has also relocated to Austin TX where he plans to start his long awaited independent record label, Disco Death Star and continue to write music under Robot Man Machine.
