True Colors

Lakeside Culture release their second EP this year, Shallow.

Opening track ‘Distant’ is a dreamy piece, featuring choral like pads with a melody on top that warms the heart with its nostalgic feeling, whilst all the time underneath the clouds, a choppy beat chugs away creating a paradox of worlds that blend together in the most unusual of ways.

‘Shallow’ is anything other than the track’s title suggests. A progressive number with a bassline that will bring tingles down your spine, whilst in typical Lakeside Culture fashion, beautiful pads wash over the high-end of the track with detailed modular synth percussion constantly evolving as the track advances.

Taking things a bit deeper on the EP, third track ’Offshore’ brings a more melancholic house vibe with warm pads, a rolling, loopy bassline with bubbly percussion beats on top chugging along until we reach the most unexpected of breakdowns - atmospheric pads appear out of the fog and into the light just for a moment before we reach familiar grounds again when the beat kicks back in.

‘Echoes’ is a straight-up techno stomper with modular bleepiness, heavy bassline and a feeling of constantly moving forward somewhere as the track develops in unexpected ways.

Lakeside Culture’s ‘Shallow’ EP will be available in all digital retailers on 29th November 2019.
