I built “You’re Gonna Like It, Not a Lot” like a wink you can dance to—deadpan verses, a chanty hook, and a pocket groove that keeps its cool. Think indie dance
 leaning into house
: tight kick, rubbery bass, and dry, talk-sung lines that answer back in a crowd-friendly call-and-response (call and response
). The humour’s straight-faced—“You’re gonna like it / not a lot / but you might like it”—so the production stays minimal and cheeky: clipped claps, slapback bits, a filtered riff that nudges without shouting. It lands for night drives, kitchen raves, or that moment when the party needs a smirk more than a big drop. If you like low-key bops with a side of deadpan humour
, this one’s your sip, not a chug.
