I chose to make 5 beats that focus more heavily on the drums rather than the melodies. I wanted to use a lot of “live” drum sounds and used samples and drum breaks that I chopped up to make them my own. I also chose to add voxes and vocal loops to each of the beats to add more texture and depth to the entire beat. Each beat has a simple and chill vibe but the breaks and fills make it more full and complex to the ear. 

For me the drums are the backbone and base of these beats. That's why I called the Ep “little drummer boy” and made the artwork a drum set. So when the listener is listening to them, they already know the main focus is going to be the drums, percussion, and other elements besides the melodies.
