Words can't describe yet another sunrise of epic proportions this time at the C.A.M.P. (Calling all Magical People) co-created gathering. Right at the beginning of my DJ set at 4:30 am on July 4th (US Independence Day) the cops showed up to try to shut the party down due to noise complaints.

I had the difficult task of keeping the decibel levels under a certain threshold, so I had to nurture a huge dance floor for the closing set of the festival until 7am somewhat quietly until we were able to ramp up the volume to proper dance floor levels.

I am not sure if it was that we all wanted this so badly, or the majestic rays of sunshine coming down upon us, all I know is that 17 encore songs & tracks after the supposedly closing "Lovely Day" song, we kept raving and raging until we almost dropped.

One of the most memorable mornings in my 21 years of DJ'ing. Here's the recording of the full 4.5 hrs of the closing sunrise DJ set. I hope it takes you all back and for those of you who weren't there I hope it brings you the sunrise  joy and magic we collectively had.

My opening set in Brooklyn, New York. I was opening for Sabo, Steve Lawler and Elif at Gaia Nomaya. 

Started off with a light softer music for the first hour than continue to build on energy as people entered this enchanted space. Hitting with organic melodies, then going to punchier and deeper tunes.

"Five years ago, I experienced the extreme joy of dancing in front of Mayan Warrior for the first time. My mind was blown with this incredible work of art, the interactivity of the design, the lights, the lasers, and the mind bending, soul enriching musical journey. I'm so honored that this year I got to play a live set on this incredible vehicle of dreams, on its tenth anniversary at Burning Man, in the company of all these incredible artists, technicians, musicians and DJs.

And the moment... it was sublime... after days of harsh dust storms, the air calmed just as I got aboard with our captain Pablo who drove us into the playa as I started playing the keys and watching the beautiful people on their bicycles following! At a certain point I left my body to take a look around this breathtaking scene of the playa, the mountains, the people, the sound... I felt such a wave of joy, inspiration and gratitude for life.

A heartfelt thank you to Rodrigo, Pablo and Amal for having me share in your magic, to the warm brilliant people of Mayan Warrior and to the beautiful people who danced as I played!"

What a start of the year, what a production, and what a crew! Big shout out to the team for their incredible work and for choosing the theme of AI. Having the first set of 2023, we created a special intro and countdown with text and voice made through an AI.

It was night time and the full-ish moon was smiling down as the river flowed and all the creatures made their distinct sounds. A fire warmed our bodies as music feed our souls. 

Inspired by the human experience that unfolded in a beautiful container surrounded by Mother Nature. This set was a celebration of the journey’s ending … or was it the just beginning ;) I was in a complete flow state, I knew two tracks I wanted to start with and two towards the end. Tunes were pulled from many different pockets of my collection.

On the property was an amazing labyrinth. Our journey and realizations through it weaved their way into this set. I later googled life and labyrinth and found this:  

“Our life path can be viewed as a labyrinth guiding us to deeper meaning and fulfillment. Walking a labyrinth takes us through numerous twists and turns that symbolize the ebb and flow of life. Like the design of a labyrinth, what looks like an end point in life can also be a beginning point.” (link below)

I’m now obsessed with labyrinths!!! Thus the title of this release.

Life as a Labyrinth - Santa Marta - Colombia - Feb 9 2023

After shutting down the bot following an incredibly powerful and meaningful temple burn for our camp, many of you thought that was the end of our 2022 Burning Man. However, a few hours later, the bus appeared in deep playa with Nico Stojan at the helm, just in time for one last sunrise. Here's looking forward to many more surprises and unscheduled moments together in 2023.

"What an honor it was to return to the Robot Heart bus for the final sunrise set of last year’s Burn! 

Originally, the Robot Heart team wasn’t planning on playing music Monday morning, so I was super happy when they asked me to play the last sunrise on the playa.

When I arrived at camp early Monday, the RH crew was just waking up and the bus was still sleeping, but there was an excitement in the air - so often it is those unplanned experiences at Burning Man that create the most magic.

We drove out to deep playa in the dark and before long had gained a wonderful crowd, everyone coming together to dance away their final hours in the dust. People were exhausted, but also energized from their week in the desert and not ready to return to the default world.

It was a super chilled last sunrise set that I thoroughly enjoyed - an unexpected morning that turned out to be unforgettable!"

Eight years ago I discovered Robot Heart and their sets opened many musical horizons for me. 

They had a profound impact on my journey as an artist and playing for Robot Heart became one of my biggest dreams. 

I am blessed to see it all come full circle. Last summer, my dream came true. Surrounded by many close friends, family and camp buddies, I had the honor of closing Tuesday morning.  What a feeling it was to stand in the deep playa on top of this legendary bus, sharing music I worked hard to create, seeing each one of you dancing in the blistering sun…. 

I am grateful for this important milestone in my musical path and for witnessing how much I have grown over the past years. 

Big thank you to the Robot Heart crew for making this all happen.

Just received the recording of this moment from the summer and in the midst of a very dynamic and energetic touring season, this is probably the set I felt most in flow with, and yet the most intimate of all, at home in the region of Mattawinie.

Now a yearly tradition, our close group of friends has been co-creating an estival celebration in the North of Québec in a village called St-Zénon. This gathering evolved so much over the years, strengthening friendships and an inspiring sense of community, healing, co-creation, love and overall total fun. 

I had the chance to play on the patio of the wooden cabin on the Friday afternoon, over looking the Boréal forest. As Pachamama was dancing with us, rain, clouds, sun and stars were part of the journey while I was soundtracking the sunset with some of my favourite humans. 

As I didn't share any sets in the recent months, I feel this could capture really well summer 2023 for me, and hopefully, for you as well!

Grateful for all the Zénon family for co-creating this space and for David, Vincent & Vincent for gifting me the chance to play music in this special setting.  Thanks to my love Ashlee for the cover picture. 

I dedicate this set to friendship, that special family we choose, and that chooses us back.
