LP Giobbi - Live @ Silencio UMBRA - Oaxaca, MX (2.18.23)

This was my first Fusion Festival, popped my Fusion cherrrrry!!! 

I arrived just before my set , they took me to the stage in a car covered in graffiti that looked like it was taken out of the garbage dump, but blended in perfectly with the surroundings, and had an extra roar that gave it its character when the dreadlocked driver pushed on the gas. I found labels and trinkets in the car from many years ago.   Totally added to the experience. 

Arrived to Kerala Dust playing live, and thousands of people in front of me. 

What i loved about this stage, is that it was just about 10 inches off the ground , so still had that intimate connection to the crowd.  Thats something I struggle with sometimes at festivals, being high up on a stage and the distance between the crowd with those metal barriers disconnecting us. 

The actual set felt electric, the vibes were fresh, and they were high, so i fed on that fresh energy and we danced till sunset.  I even got a polaroid from a lady **if you know who you are ** say hi -----     that said hero on it.   

super touching experience, was soooo short and sweet. 

ill never forget my experience with Floyd Lavine, who i got to hang out with for an hour.  he came to my set at the beginnning and was total fan boy, totally unexpected.   afterwards i ran into him in the artist grounds, and we hung out danacing and talking with his gf and his friends somehow the conversation turned to politics, and it got heated.   not that i know anything about politics, :)

Hello World,

Do you ever get the feeling that life is moving too fast? That all you wish in the world is just a few moments to catch your breathe? Personally, I feel like I am in a constant whirlwind of obligations, responsibilities, and events that leave me feeling mentally fatigued. I try to do everything I can to try and be present in the moment and put everything I have into what I am doing, but what I have found is that I don't leave the necessary time to reflect on the beautiful times shared and the milestones I have crossed. So much has happened in the last year, and even in the past month. I have learned powerful and important lessons but I fear I have not taken the time necessary to integrate them into my life. I have done a lot of character building this year, but have I taken the necessary time to reflect on this and realign to who I am and where I am going?

Life pushes us around, constantly...and as such, I need to consistently check in with myself:

Who are you? Who are you trying to be? 
Where are you going? What are you doing to make a difference? 
Are you proud of yourself lately? If not, what are you doing about it?

I am sure I am not alone in these questions, or maybe you are plagued by others...but I challenge you with a simple question... "Do you allot yourself time to be alone with your thoughts?" To simply be alone and reflect critically on the questions that have been lingering in the back of your head. 

I am a strong believer that everyone could benefit from more time alone. Unplug from the social network, physically and digitally. Check in with yourself and realign to your individual self. Simply allow yourself to think critically for a minute.  I am definitely the first to admit, sometimes I don’t want to think too much about it and just push forward to the next thing. Sometimes I am afraid of what I will discover if I ask honestly and earnestly. To think critically for a while, to sit with the answers, positive or negative. To dig deep on the root cause of your emotions, and don't let the surface level thoughts trick you into thinking that is the true answer. Push to the bottom of what plagues you to come to peace with it and gather proper headspace. 

Headspace. It's a term I use often to describe where I am mentally. Am I stressed, tired, frustrated, lost, content...or happy? It is something I need to continually check in on, to be sure I am putting my best foot forward with who I am and where I am going. I need my mind and my focus to be rock solid, because when someone calls on me...I need to be there, without question or hesitation. I need my energies and my mind to be at peace so that I can best help others. If my thoughts and my life are in chaos, I am in no shape to help anyone, no matter how badly I may want to. People always ask me why I practice yoga everyday...what is my intention, my purpose? And my answer is simple...I practice everyday in an attempt to free up my headspace.

David Goggins said it best when he said “I am not training for a race, I am training for life. I’m training for that time in the morning when I get that call at 2am that my mom is hurt or something happens tragic in life… I don’t fall apart. I am training my body, my mind, and my spirit, so it is all one...so I can handle what life is going to throw at me. Because the life I have lived…it throws a whole bunch at you. Because if you aren’t physically and mentally prepared for that, you are going to fall apart…and then you aren’t good for anyone…” 

So ask yourself. Where is your headspace? And if you don't know, fear not. I created this compilation of music to guide you to your answer. This mix is a peek into my mind and my personal journey to proper headspace. The ups, downs, sideways of my thoughts.

I made this mix for you. To give yourself a breathe of fresh air so you can reflect and gather your own form of proper headspace. I hope it helps you find the answers you are looking for.
