While Arms and Sleepers celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2021, Mirza Ramic—one of two original co-founders and now the group’s sole member—celebrated another milestone: 25 years since he first arrived to the US as a refugee. Born in Bosnia & Herzegovina and having fled the war-torn country with his mother, Ramic immigrated to the US as a 13-year old and arrived to Tucson, Arizona in July 1996. The family would eventually make it to Boston, Massachusetts where Ramic would go on to meet the other half of Arms and Sleepers (Max Lewis), but the first two years living in the Southwestern US shaped the core of an American immigrant identity. Exactly 25 years later, in July 2021, Ramic sat down to write an album dedicated to the memories of first arriving in the US, far removed from everything he was previously familiar with and at the footsteps of a new life ahead.

'former kingdoms' is out on May 10, 2022 and available as a Gatefold LP via SlyVinyl Records + on all music streaming services via DXFXWXU Collective.

This EP is meant to tell the story of the 3xtraT3rr3strial Invasion, the Abduction of fans aboard an Alien Ship, and their Escape (or maybe not...). Original cover artwork is by my son (thank you, my boy!).

Freely available singles will be put out throughout this year as part of the "Spotlight" series, a means to showcase all the artists involved with Origami Sound for the long run.

"Veedei" is one of Altrice's many genre-crossing masterpieces and a suitable introduction for those who are yet to explore his previous works. 
His stunning contributions to remix competitions over the past 2 years have led him to release a full album of Caribou's "Swim" remixes as well as an amazing rework that stood out in Radiohead's last year "TKOL RMXS" collection. Keep an eye out for him this year ;)
