This is a beat that I collaborated on with J57. J asked me to lay some synths over the drums he gave me. I attempted to provide a track that had many elements that could be sampled and turned into almost any kind of beat. There will be more to come for this track I am sure of. I am releasing this as the Third of Fifty - Two beats.

CRTE - Robot Eating Dragon

Robot Eating Dragon is the fire breathing brainchild of Patrick Simone. In an era dominated by repetitive EDM drops, the Robot Eating Dragon project represents a return to analog electronic music. Part trance, part fantasy soundscape, the sound of RED is the sound of the history of electronic music brought to the present. RED is that rare meeting between a classically trained pianist with 20 years behind the keys and a moment in dance music when quality is just starting to return to the mainstream. Simone was raised on Daft Punk and schooled in Kraftwerk. These influences shine through the RED sound which is sometimes directed at the head and sometimes directed at the dance floor. Throughout RED diverse catalog there is an insistent focus on musicality. His near obsession with sound construction leads to some of the most driving, textured soundscapes in electronic music today.

Around the rabble they hare. Constant perimeter scans. Prisoners of mechanical habit marching throughout the defiled, hypaethral city. The sky was the unobserved failure in the steel dragoons' fortress. 

This evening, the light is different, something only a human would have noticed. Ocular 
sensors begin firing million of lines of code to a central database. Sonic resonance readers signal a repetitive rhythm, but not of a mechanical nature. This is raw. This is analog. A pulse, like a myriad of drums united by one consciousness, keeping a single steady beat. And the decibels are slowly climbing. 

Synthesized robotic S.O.S. calls circulate, a flurry of impotent communication. Fear is human, but the robots calculate it tonight. Then an emergence: 
The white sedentary clouds explode red with a plangent roar. Fresh flames consume the air. A thousand stone-like scales. Winged shadows blanket the pavement. The Dragon. It comes to deliver a message: 

“I, the true being, brandish my weapon of organic life. I come to relieve you of your otiose existence. There is no robotic afterlife. You will never compute Heaven. 
But tonight I will show you Hell.” 

Oil Spills. No lives are taken. The robots never lived.
