Here's flipping through factory presets, edited for nonsense somewhat, otherwise just straight flipping, no midi sequencing so either it's the sammich's sequencer, arp or me playing by hand which I'm sure you'll be able to tell the difference since I'm just noodling here.This thing is pretty cool and has a lot going for it and I understand why there is a cult following for the SID chip. It's has an interesting architecture and capable sound especially for when it was created, it seems like the chip was beyond what the microprocessors could push it to at the time.

My particular sammichSID uses the dirty 6581 chips which are particularly dirty and unstable.They are a bit noisy and with some combinations of waveforms it just doesn't work the way it is supposed to.The 8580 or 6582 (same chips?) are better in that regard and many other ways, but the 6581 are cool cause they are DIRTY and unpredictable.You can hear the VCA stage not closing a lot especially with percussion, and the filter is almost useless in low pass mode on these.Anyway, watch your speakers because the dynamics are all over the place at a few spots... where you might have the volume up at the drum demo and coming out of that it's blasting.

did this with a friend.  machinedrum, korg trident mkII, studio electronics ATC-1, yamaha CS-10, tape recorder, samples, and the sync lead was an MS2000
