European producer with Ukrainian roots, Nikolina (LDN) joins Bar 25 Music with the debut EP recorded for the label. Track ¨Moonlight¨ was created together with Andréa Ararê — shamanic practitioner and healer born and raised in Brazil. A truly genuine tandem for a powerful organic house work. As the artist says, “the moontime is considered a time of power, second only to the ability of the Great Spirit to give life. I was inspired by upcoming changes in my life. The changes that come with each passing moon indicate the times for planting, harvesting and gathering”.

The original track comes with a remix by Watergate club resident, Berlin based rising star — Yulia Niko. A groovy melodic house rework with the strong ready-to-hit-the-dance-floor energy.

Toronto-based talent Mustafa Ismaeel inaugurates Rebellion’s 2022 release schedule with the four-track EP Right Here. It marks his first output on the label and sets the tone for a highlight year ahead.

Mustafa spoke on what the release represents, stating: “This EP captures the essence and versatility of the music I play and create. Crossing multiple genres and styles, yet they all share the two main aspects of my music: groove and emotion."

The title track leads the charge, taking the form of a gently-building dance cut as glistening hats converge on sweeping kick-hat pairings. Darkest Love soon arrives, a collaborative effort between Mustafa and London-mainstay Hoomance. It warms with a gentle lucidity, as dream-like pads meld into ethereal vocal tones, before Messing Around takes its place. Four-four drum patterns cosy up next to echoing lyrical samples, paving the way for the final piece: Hindsight. Emotive and soothing, it retains an inherent club-ready feel - the perfect match for opening or closing a performance.

Based in the thriving cultural hub of Toronto, DJ and producer Mustafa Ismaeel is an artist that consistently redefines musical boundaries. Born in Iraq, growing up in India and maturing in Canada, the Deep House Toronto founder has released on several of contemporary house’s leading imprints, including Steyoyoke, Manual and Dream Cultur to name a few. Now, Right Here marks the biggest release of his career so far, showcasing him as a standout tastemaker in today’s scene.

A new artist collective will be gracing the nightlife scene this April, as five of melodic dance music’s leading talents combine their efforts under a single, unified banner. Emanuel Satie, Maga, Sean Doron, Tim Engelhardt and Yulia Niko make up Scenarios, the collective, record label and event series. The label’s inaugural release takes the form of the two-track Here To Stay EP. The first instalment sees three of the five members collaborate on Here To Stay, a meandering, emotionally-charged offering packed full of poignant chords and textured drum patterns throughout. It feels introspective and danceable in one, paving the way for a similarly moving number in the form of You & I, Paradise. This time DUDDHA’s mesmeric vocals create an achingly beautiful soundscape, one that winds with a gentle lucidity through resonant synths and a driving lead bassline. Individually, they are known as Maga, Sean Doron, Yulia Niko, Tim Engelhardt and Emanuel Satie, each of whom are established performers in their own right. Together, they become Scenarios. An artist who celebrates life and dancing within his organic and propulsive compositions, ‘Tyre’ displays Mike Steva’s own distinct style within two dense and rich productions.

Leading the release, the ‘Tyre’ combines unique sample sources with trippy vocal chops, noisy synth work, and a deep, pulsating low end. ‘Tribal Salute’ follows, bringing skippy percussions, engaging instrumentation and sweeping pads together for a moving B-side to round out the release.

Mona Yim debuts on Rekids with ‘Gotta Do This, Gurl’, featuring remixes from Radio Slave.

Born and raised between Singapore and Germany and now based in Berlin, Mona Yim spent time bouncing between the clubs of London, Berlin, and Paris while honing her craft, culminating in a recent remix for DJ Seinfeld’s ‘Tell Me One More Time’ on Ninja Tune. Now readying her debut solo release on Rekids, Mona Yim delivers two dreamy house cuts for the imprint, backed with a pair of remixes from label-boss Radio Slave.

Leading the release, ‘Gotta Do This, Gurl’ brings crispy, bouncing drums alongside moody pads and subtle vocal chops, building up to an emotive breakdown. Radio Slave beefs up the drum patterns with breakbeats for his remix, adding additional atmospheric FX to existing melodic elements for a chunky, driving track. 

‘Dots Obsession’ sees floaty percussion, gentle synth work and vocals working in tandem to craft a soft yet evocative house jam. Injecting a pumping 4/4 pattern alongside elements of the original, Radio Slave’s interpretation brings the energy levels up with pitch-perfect dub FX and swirling synthesis.

In order to release more music from exciting young artists, connected is launching connectedbeats edition 1. The first in this new series puts out great music from connected friends and allies “that would otherwise be unable to get a release with the label because of a busy schedule.”
This superb six track sampler kicks off with Panamanian duo K.E.E.N.E. who run some of their homeland’s most essential events. Their ‘Negra Macha’ is a scintillatingly loose melodic house groove with deep drums and starry atmospheres.
