He brings this perfect blend of pop/mainstream sensibility and indie but strikes a great balance with his really unique voice and styling which is something we care a lot about... When we started producing the song we gravitated towards the more progressive sound, flush with big synths but wanted to pair it with a sweeping horn over the drop to give it this really grand almost orchestra feeling that gave it a unique feeling, almost cinematic in nature.... which allowed us to cater to the high energy of house but maintain a unique undertone which we put a lot of importance on with our productions ”

In fact we loved them so much so, that we sent maybe 30 emails a month to their management, press, agents and fan pages begging to remix them... Of course no one got back to us... but there is a lesson to be learned here... Sometimes you gotta let something go, to let it come back to you ;) Actually fuck that saying, just work hard, do you and eventually the right ppl will recognize that, and in this case we were finally blessed with the opportunity to remix one of our favorite artists, and on top of that a song we really love...

Its why we think her vocals always do so well with dance music. Holding onto Heaven was definitely a fun challenge for us to remix. The original is very far from a dance track and we wanted to think out of the box and do something unusual with the vocal. Additionally there were so many cinematic parts to the song to use particularly the string. In our remix you will here some vocal transposing that we think adds this very strange but unique edge that cuts through. That paired with our melody and the strong we think we came out with a very dynamic song thats in a constant flux of feeling."

Quickie from us: "So its really great when coincidences and fate find each other, because that is what happened… We absolutely were in love with this summer anthem by smallpools, it reeked of fresh cut grass and the afternoon sun... So when their ppl reached out to us about doing a remix it was the easiest decision ever. We can't say it wasn't a challenge though with such a strong vocal, but we really wanted to pin it up against the classic 'house music pluck' we have been hearing so much of, but use it in a vain that felt a bit different but still large, but finding that union was tough in the sense the two had to warm up to each other rather than clash... but in the end we think we found this great atmosphere for the song to exist."
