In this recording,  favorite artists of mine like Vince Guaraldi, Cal Tjader, Paquito D’Rivera, Claudio Roditi, Dizzie Gillespie, Gato Barbieri, and percussionists that I took as a reference such as Ray Barreto, Ralph McDonald, Poncho Sanchez  among others, are represented and “tributed” with our versions of their great tunes and performances.

Born in 1962 in Switzerland, moved to Milan in 1968 with my family, I have been playing music since the age of 12, studied music on the recorder flute, then guitar then started playing bass in 1978, including in the early 1980s electric bass guitar lessons with one of the best bass players in Italy at the time (and still), Mino Fabiano from whom I learned the basics of this extraordinary instrument. 
I play the good old fashioned 4 strings bass instruments in all forms and types of basses : electric bass, acoustic bass, fretted and fretless, upright electric, acoustic double bass.
After more than 40 years of active playing I am now an experienced musician, a bass player with a strong afro-cuban percussions (that I played for many years) background, so, for sure, with a good, solid “tempo” and with the “swing”.
I love playing (and listening a lot) to music, in general all music styles, in the last years mostly towards the Jazz classics and Latin/Afro Cuban Jazz, music that I am somewhat considered an expert and collector.
Music is what I enjoy the most doing and I put my time, heart and soul in it, it has a very important place in my life. I have been very fortunate, throughout the years, to have played a lot of music, with many great musicians, professionals and not, in very diverse places with many bands, all over the world, and still manage to do so, having a lot of fun with good results. 
In 1982 I moved from Milan to Paris, France, then later to Madrid, Spain, then to Los Angeles and while living in the Southern California area travelled extensively for a few years across Latin America, where I had the opportunity to learn from the "masters" to play all the Latin American percussions (conga, timbales, bongos, cowbells, hand percussions, etc.), and play with a lot of these guys, an experience that has been precious and still treasure, also useful for my bass playing. 
During my several years stay in Southern California/Latin America I played Latin American percussions with local Los Angeles area jazz, latin and fusion bands. 
Having lived and played music in several areas of the world helps me bring different sounds and experiences wherever and with whomever I play with, while being rather versatile. 
Since 1995 I am back in Milan (Porta Romana), have my own recording/practice studio (The “Joy Boys Studio”) started the new “Live Jazz Music Service”  working with different congressual and other events in Italy and abroad, formed first the “Jazz Standards Quintet” and since 2010 founded the fun “Latin Jazz Ensemble”, all with great professional musicians, while playing in different new projects and jam sessions. I am always available for interesting exciting new musical projects, with bass or percussions. 
With the “Latin Jazz Ensemble” we are now at our seventh CD, now in 2025 with the "MY LATIN BROTHERS" album (http://www.soundclick.com/latinjazzensemble) available for free download and listening on Spotify, YouTube, Amazon, iTunes, etc..
