Anton Fedotov - 300 Days [SOMA SELECTS Premiere]

After 6 years living in Berlin, Arkan went through discovering his own soundscape inspired from 2010's techno musics, being learning from dancefloors like Berghain, K41 in Kyiv and many more since years.

Co-Founder of the label Autonome Records and founder of Drawner Records, his music is powerful in emotions and plunge the listener into his own deepest thoughts.

Always wanting to emancipate people through music, he offer a music full of experience that spread love of the present moment by harmonic vibrations.

This allowed him to play in several clubs accross the world like Berghain, Tresor, in New York or even Georgia. He also released music on labels such as SK Eleven, WSNWG, Figure or even on his own imprints.

In this mix, he wanted to propose something more slow & deep while constantly evolving, to get your an idea of the beginning of one of his sets.

Darkroom Dubs follow up on their latest vinyl only project - Darkroom Dubs Edits by Skinnerbox - with a continued exploration into bridging post-punk and techno. This time with a new release from a rising star in Paris' blossoming underground - Parisian producer, promoter and DJ Id!r. 

Clint kicks things off with darting vocoder stabs and reverberated drum whacks that build a rich sense of space. A steadily punching Disco clap and distant, eerie melodies add intrigue before swelling, filtered synth tones suffuse the tracks distinctly 80s tinged track. Monday then melds sharp percussion with trippy, delayed signals and bold, marching synth lines that sit the track comfortably in big room spaces.

No Dust In Vain drives a purposeful thud through menacing guitar plucks and horror-movie vocals as tension churns throughout. Manual Music affiliate Sigward then follows up with his interpretation of Monday as he balances brash, thundering stabs against soft, mournful sweeps bringing a rich and varied package to a close and tying up another coup for a bonafide label with over 13 years experience in the game.

There have been a number of new device announcements this past month -- from Google’s new Pixel phone (the first time they made their own phone on the hardware side as well) to more recently, Apple’s announcements around a new Macbook Pro and innovations in touch (including a Touchbar that replaces function keys and bringing TouchID to Macs); and then Microsoft, which among other things announced a new Surface Studio -- an all-in-one touchscreen desktop PC. How do these change the future of work?

Turns out, even seemingly small interface improvements could have significant consequences for user behavior. Just look at touch. More broadly, though, what happens when a software maker becomes a hardware maker? Or when we're in the middle of an architecture shift, as we are right now with x86 to ARM processors in mobile (and beyond)?

It's all about where you're at on the "S-curve" of innovation (a concept first coined by Gabriel Tarde and expanded on Everett Rogers in his theory of innovation diffusion). And sometimes, the best is the last... But how can we tell where something is on that curve? The right comparisons matter here, and a16z's Benedict Evans and board partner Steven Sinofsky try to make them in this episode of the podcast!
