This song tells the story of a 14 year old boy who saved up to buy his first guitar and played it in the tool shed until he had to go to bed.  His mother was upset because she believed the "Devil was in them strings" and "evil beat coming from those drums would prevent you my son from going to Heaven up above"!  However, the boy just couldn't let go of the temptation to play Rock N' Roll!  Hope you enjoy!

She Has A Black, Black Heart

This is a remake and update of the original song  I wrote back in 1982. I would like to dedicate this song to the memory of my dear friend Mr. Danny Arseneau who passed away on June 17, 2000 at the age of 38 years due to a tragic accident in his home.  Danny and I went to high school together in Chateauguay, Quebec and also attended Dawson College together for a while.  Danny later joined the Canadian Armed Forces.  

We would spend hours in our basements playing our guitars and "making noise" as our parents called it.  We actually entered my song and played it at a music talent show held at Dawson College.  It was very well received by the crowd of students and we actually won a prize for best original song.  What a great audience and time.

Wally is currently a Professor and former Associate Dean for the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.  He is also affectionately known as the “Rock N’ Prof” by his students, because he often plays original songs that he has written prior to the commence of lectures to create certain vibes and buzzes in his classes.
Ever since Wally was a little lad, he wanted to play the electric guitar and make music that creates smiles on people’s faces. He can remember playing his imaginary electric "air guitar" in his parents basement to various rock and country songs for hours on end. He got his first guitar when he turned 14 after taking on various odds jobs including pumping gas on weekends and cutting lawns.  He quickly learned to play it on his very own, along with several other instruments. He is passionate about song writing and his songs often reflect personal experiences and challenges that he has faced over the years.
